Review and How-To: Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash
Question: What is a rinseless wash?
Answer: A concentrated car cleaning solution that offers excellent lubricating ability while loosening the grip dirt and road grime so that it can be safely removed without the need for a water hose and running water.
Question: How does it work?
Answer: The concentrate is diluted with water and mixed well in a bucket and then using a wash mitt or other wash media the rinseless wash solution is wiped over a body panel where the lubricating agents lubricate the surface and the cleaning agents loosen dirt. Loosened dirt and road grime gathered onto the wash mitt are transferred back to the bucket of rinseless wash solution and then the panel just cleaned is dried.
Question: Why use a rinseless wash instead of a traditional wash?
Answer: There are many reasons to use a rinseless wash instead of a traditional wash, here are a few,
1. Drought conditions
In areas of drought local governments may take away your right to use a traditional car wash method to wash your car. Common sense and a personal commitment to the greater good of the community also inspire people to find alternative ways to clean their car without running water.
2. No running water available
This could include people that live in condos or apartments where access to a running water and a water hose don't exist or contractual agreements dictate cars will not be washed using the traditional car wash approach.
3. Cold, icy frozen winter climate
If you live in a geographical area where temperatures drop to freezing or below freezing it can be impossible and even risky to your physical health (slip hazards), to try to wash a car outside using the traditional car wash method.
4. Mobile Detailers
Some cities, towns and counties may have restrictions using running water that is not contained and recycled making using the traditional wash method risky as a person could face fines and fees for non-compliance.
5. Traveling cross country
When traveling cross country access to a water hose and running water may not be an option.
Question: Are there any risks to using a rinseless wash such as scratching the finish?
Answer: Clearcoats are scratch-sensitive, this means they scratch easy and there's always a risk of inflicting scratches into a car's clearcoat finish no matter how you wash the vehicle. For cars that are excessively dirty a better option is to take the vehicle to a self-service coin-op car wash where you have access to running water or to commercial car wash business where the car wash company will wash your car for you. For cars that are not excessively dirty you can safely use a rinseless wash as long as you take a common sense approach, use good technique and use high quality products. Remember, if you cannot use the traditional method of using a water hose with running water to wash your car then you must find an alternative option to get your car clean and a rinseless wash is a popular option.
Fast and easy
Besides all the reasons listed above for using a rinseless wash another popular reason is because it's fast and easy without the mess or hassle of dragging out the hose, bucket and any related tools for washing your car.
Like anything in life, practice makes perfect and the more you use a rinseless wash the better and faster you get with this low-water method for cleaning cars. You also develop your own unique technique to fit your style of work as well as the body lines of the cars and other vehicles you wash.
Rinseless washes became popular primarily for reasons that are associated with the inability to use the traditional car wash approach to cleaning cars but as the years have gone by the rinseless wash approach has dramatically grown in popularity simply because once you dial in your own unique system getting your car clean is fast and easy.
The rinseless wash approach is actually a perfect method for cleaning cars for anyone that lives in areas where it doesn't rain a lot thus your car stays cleaner naturally already. And the rinseless wash approach is also a perfect method for getting your car clean if you're already a clean freak, that is you're OCD when it comes to keeping your car clean and probably everything else in your life.
Let me share with you a top shelf rinseless wash product that given a chance may just switch you over to becoming a rinseless wash fanatic.
