Hey Guys, First review here.

I will be doing a review on the BLACKFIRE Clay Cleaner & Extender, detailing clay bar cleaner, extend clay bar

I've wasted many claybars from dropping them on the floor and was interested to see how well this product worked. I know that currently everyone will be moving to the clay alternatives as they are more efficient but I still find clay to be useful for the hard to reach spots and tight spaces. I have maybe a year supply of clay left.

Some Information about the product taken from AG store:

Extend the life and increase the performance of clay bars!

BLACKFIRE Clay Cleaner & Extender is a revolutionary cleanser that saves your clay bar and saves you money! It allows you to clean the majority of debris off the clay bar to extend its usable life. Special surfactants in this product deep clean the surface of the clay without drying or damaging the clay. By cleaning the detailing clay, you can use the same bar longer without jeopardizing your paint finish. BLACKFIRE Clay Cleaner & Extender adds value to your detailing clay!

My Review:

I first dirtied the claybar by claying the fender of my car...barely anything was picked up. So I decided to drop it on the garage floor and did a quick wipe across the floor for a real test!

This is the nastiness I accumulated.

I proceeded to spray the product.

Using one hand, I glided my fingers across the surface of the clay and rinsed. I wasn't using much pressure if any at all.

This is how clean I got it.

As you can see I barely put any effort into thoroughly cleaning the clay. It was just a quick spray and light rubbing and a rinse.

Final Thoughts:

This product does what it claims. It simply works. It smells/looks/feels like windex. Although, I can't see a professional detailer using this product in a time crunch. The reason why I say this is because how much time it would take to spray the product, rub it clean, rinse it, fold it, then move on to the next panel. The clay alternatives are very effective especially for "the speed" aspect. Products such as opti-eraser, nanoskin autoscrub, and the speedy prep towel are taking the detailing world by storm making the claybars obsolete for some.

For a hobbyist such as myself, I don't mind it. If it extends the use of my tools, I'm all for saving a buck or two. To add to that, I love taking my time detailing.

The small 4oz bottle will last a long time for someone like myself. I will say that it did leave the clay a little "gritty" and made the clay more malleable. Spray it with clay lubricant and it was fine again.

I will update in future to see if this product has any harmful effects from continued use.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you enjoyed it. All opinions & comments are welcome. :xyxthumbs:

I gotta be honest, I still would not use that clay bar on my personal car after dropping it on the ground. The chances that it removed every abrasive particle in the clay is not good.

If it was cleaned after being used on an actual car I think I would still use it, I don't know about that one rubbed on the floor lol
