I received my DP Gloss Tire Gel a couple days ago. Today I got a chance to try it out and write this review. I just protected my tires a week ago so I did not test all tires. I wanted to get this review up so I did go ahead and do the drivers side front tire.
Scent: Mild Fresh
Color: Green
Consistency: Water Based Gel
Size: 32 oz.
Regular Price: 24.99
Price Per oz.: $0.78
1.-I prepped the tire by cleaning the rubber thoroughly with Griots Rubber Cleaner and a tire brush at the start of washing Skybaby.
2.-After I was done washing I dried the tire and aloud it to sit until I was finished with some other detailing items.
3.-Time to test out my new DP Gloss Tire Gel!
Autogeek supplied 2 foam applicators with my shipment but I still had a new tire swipe in supply. I used this as the applicator. When removing the seal from the lid I noticed the product has a mild fresh scent to it. The color is a nice green. The consistency is just right. It is a water based gel and is not at all goopy like the product I had been using. I applied a small amount to the applicator and spread it around the sidewall. Directions say to wait 30 minutes for it to penetrate before adding a second coat. I waited 35 for good measure. Then I added a second coat and waited an additional 35 minutes. At this point I had a choice to wipe the tire down with a clean dry towel or not depending on the gloss I desired. For my tastes I opted to wipe the tire down. I'm sure I could have lowered the gloss even more but I wanted to go "medium" for the review. When I wiped it some black came off on the towel. I can't be sure if this is because I didn't clean the tire enough with my griots or because the DP gel has some kind of cleaner in it that removed a bit more dirt or dead rubber. After wiping down the tire I waited another 15 minutes although that was not directed and probably not necessary. Then I went for a short ride to test for sling. I didn't get a chance to break 40 mph since I had done a lot of work on Skybaby today and don't like to drive too much for the first few days after. There was not any sling off from my short test.
I will update this review once a week for the next 3-4 weeks for durability and product performance.
Based on what I've seen so far and the feeling I got from the application I will switch to using this for my tires.
Pros I have witnessed so far:
Nice consistency
Easy application
No sling
Small amount seems to go a long way
Cons I have witnessed so far:
The directions for controlling the gloss shown on the AG website contradict the directions that are on the bottle. I just noticed this... I followed the bottles directions.
According to the website you control the gloss by using only one application and then wiping with a damp cloth or by applying a second coat.
According to the bottle you use 2 thin coats and you use a dry cloth after the second coat in order to control the gloss.
(This issue is easily corrected I should think)

Here is some manufacturer info:
DP Gloss Tire Gel is designed to allow you to control the level of gloss so you get the perfect shine every time.
The VOC compliant formula penetrates deep below the surface to hydrate and refresh dull, dry rubber.
This water-based gel will not affect the clear coat of painted surfaces.
