I recently wrote my review on the new Gyeon Pure Evo coating which can be found here https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/130523-review-gyeon-pure-evo.html

Again I thank Nathan of Gyeon USA for sending this out to me to try out.

CanCoat has always been one of may favorite products. I would go on a limb and often state it was the best coating in the Gyeon line even if was not a full fledged coating. It had a claim of up to 6 months but it consistently exceeded in durability and longevity for me ranging from15-18 months. It is also one of the most versatile coatings as it can be applied to any surface (glass, paint, trim, wheels) as a standalone but also as a maintenance topper after a year or so. It also has some of the best hydrophobic behavior that I have seen and it leaves that glossy appearance.

CanCoat Evo takes it to another level. Application is still the same as is the delivery system. It does feel slicker than the previous version at least to me.

Background information on CanCoat Evo ceramic coating:

  • Up to 12months (1year)
  • One layer. Second layer completely option but can be applied 1 hour after the first layer.
  • Increase in SiO2 content where CanCoat Pro used to be.
  • Outdoor Friendly. Meaning it can be applied outside but not in direct sun and avoid wet wet weather for the first 24 hours as it will affect the cure time (ie dew, rain). This will be a big hit for those that don't have access to a garage as it applies to all of the Gyeon coatings. One thing mentioned in the included maintenance book, is to apply Gyeon Cure as a precaution if planning to leave it outside.
  • Can be applied via the included towel or an applicator.
  • Can be applied as a topper over Gyeon Pure Evo or Gyeon Mohs Evo.
  • Can be applied to paint, trim, wheels, glass (not recommended for the front to wiper judder).
Final Thoughts:

I share most of my thoughts in the video but the ease of application and user experience is the same with CanCaot Evo. I always enjoyed the durability of the previous version so having more is a plus while keeping the overall user experience the same. It will more than likely exceed that up to 12 month durability claim.

It still retains that versatility while making for an excellent choice for a maintenance topper a year down the road on a coating. It works with any coating.

CanCoat Evo felt slicker to me than CanCoat. It still leaves that nice gloss and I can say that the beading looks amazing as usual as my brother sent me photos after some rain.

I always have a bottle of it in my cabinet as CanCoat has always been a great product for me.

If you still have an older bottle of CanCoat, don’t get rid of it. Use it as it is a great product. Once it is all used up then transition over to the Evo version.

The vehicle it was applied as a topper to is my brothers 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Redline Edition which was polished with the Dr. Beasley’s NSP 95 and coated with Gyeon Pure Evo.

Excellent review. IMO Gyeon Cancoat is also a good way to learn the techniques of moving on to a stronger ceramic coating. CanCoat is so forgivable if you mess up. High Spots, streaks, etc.

Now that there is an improved version (EVO), I am sure it will do just as good or better.

where can I buy this product?

where can I buy this product?

There are a few online retailers that sell it. Per the forum rules I am unable to provide links. Google is going to be your friend here.

its not sold here?

Only non Evo as far as I recall. You will have to check the AG store to double check. If not there are other places carrying the Evo versions of all Gyeon coatings.

Great review. Thanks!

I too always liked CanCoat. I think it is the best looking coating I've ever used and probably in my top two favorites for water behavior.

I'm a little surprised the Evo products haven't arrived here yet. AG must be using up old inventory before offering the new items.

This will be my first step up the coatings ladder... when they get it. Until then I'll try some Griots 3 in 1

You’ll like it. Didn’t perform quite as well as CQUK3 for me but definitely looked better. Great product all around.

Why wait. Nobody will give you a hard time if you were to purchase it from another place.

Yeah, I was waiting for Autogeek to get the new Griot’s Crinkle Glass PFMs and gave up waiting and ordered from Griot’s. I’m sure I’ll be putting in another AG order soon enough.

I’m waiting for Evo too. Want to use up my Gift Cards

Autogeek will be using out on alot of money by waiting.

If I have to order somewhere else i’ll end up putting in my whole spring order there. Most places are catching up to AG on terms of having sales.

Intrigued…ordering….time to coat my scooter and cast wheels….not gonna order any of the prep stuff as the scooter has a pearl white semi gloss surface (not matte) and I’m looking for protection first, gloss enhancement second …will update this as I finish project. Will polish the bike with DA/Meg 205 to prep/clean the finish along with IPA.

Update… At first I was concerned it was hard to see going on, but then in the right light I can see the coverage. Buffed up well, nice gloss ,will give you updates, as my bike is used every day rain or shine.
