You may remember from my Nevr-Dull review that I was interested in trying out P21S Polishing Soap as well in comparison. Well I recently picked some up in a trade and couldn't wait to try it out.

Packaging

You can see it comes supplied with it's own sponge.

The soap and sponge.

The sponge must be soaked in water then wrung until it is barely dripping. The instructions then call for it to be swiped multiple times across the soap.

After using this, this was probably too much, but in the beginning I'd rather use too much than not enough.

As for the exhaust tips here is a quick before and after, they weren't in too bad of a shape to begin with but take a look specifically at the inside edge. After polishing multiple times you can either wash it off or wait for it to haze then buff off. I chose to wash it off since it seemed like a safer route to begin with.

Overall my thoughts on this product is that it works fantastic on polishing them up, however using a sponge as compared to something like a foam applicator is more difficult. I may try an applicator out next and see if that works better. It would be smaller than the sponge. But the soap works great however compared to a polish it does create more of a mess and additionally requires to be washed off or to wait until it dries to a haze (which I don't prefer because I'd rather put the product on then take it off instead of leaving it on there), as compared to Nevr-Dull which you just polish then wipe clean once you're done.

Thanks for reading if you have any questions or tips feel free to let me know.

On the inside of some tips, to add extra cut, I used 0000 steel wool with the polishing soap. Otherwise I do love to use it, but I always rinse it and after it dries, wipe it down with a QD or metal wax again.

Nice review Eric. When I use it I get my sponge evenly covered with a decent amount of product and then give it a go.

I really enjoy using this Metal soap for cleaning and polishing different metal surfaces. Although it can be messy at times if you are not careful, I find the ease of cleaning power and lemon scent a joy to use.

I haven't tried 0000 wool yet but I have heard it can help cut through grime that's tough on there.

Thanks for the tips Mike, I was surprised at how much it cleaned since it didn't seem very abrasive. It works great though and I have no idea how someone could go through the entire tub.

The product may not seem very abrasive but coupled with the aggressive sponge that's where it gets its cutting ability.

You can try a regular yellow wax applicator and see what it does for cleaning. Let me know how that option works out.

Great review!

As Mike alluded to, the sponge can be a bit aggressive for some finishes. Overall, one of my favorite and underrated metal products.

THANKS OP!

1. Would this be aggressive enough for neglected exhaust tips?
2. Would a terry-cloth or foam applicator be alright rather than the sponge (and if so, which is preferable, probably terry-cloth for cutting power?)
3. Is letting it dry to a haze a must for cleaning and polishing, or can you continue to agitate the exhaust and then wipe off remaining residue like other metal polishes?

Lastly... would this be something acceptable for wheels?

Will do, I think if you keep up with car care you wouldn't need something as abrasive as the sponge included and a smaller applicator would help getting more of the exhaust tip especially if it's tucked back or for getting between dual tips.

I do think it would be aggressive enough, if not try some 0000 steel wool or an APC first to try and break down whatever is on there then move to this.

The only thing I would be afraid of with a rough towel would be scratching the finish, I do think the sponge included can be used for the most extreme cutting power or even the finest polishing.

The included instructions state to either wash off once done or dry to a haze, personally I rather wash it off because that way I'm not running the risk of fighting to get it off, I haven't tried letting it dry to a haze and don't plan to.

As for the wheels, if their clear coated there's really no point in using a metal polish and could damage them, here's Autogeek's warning on their site "Do not use on painted, anodized, or clear coated wheels."

Someone should try it on billet aluminum wheels and tell me if it scratches.

Thanks for getting the P21S! If you remember, in your earlier review, I suggested the soap and I'm glad to see you got a chance to try it out. Personally, I have yet to use if on anything that has been neglected. The real strength of this product, in my opinion, is the gentle nature and way it adds luster to chrome, and all metal for that matter. For me, my tailpipes go from clean and shiny to blinding after using P21S Polishing Soap.

Thanx for sharing mate , something I ll need to try one day .

I would try using an applicator also next time on your end & see what it will do .

Keep these reviews coming in mate .

Yep I'd heard so many good things about it I knew I wanted to try it out. How long do you work the product? For these I spent a minute or 2 on each just polishing, or is it something that the more you polish the higher the shine?

No problem and I'll post up when I do.

THANKS af90! :)

You're Welcome! Feel free to post up if you have any other questions.

Yeah, maybe about a minute. Enough time to work it into a nice lather and then just follow the directions from there. I'm sure it can handle nice grime, I just haven't let anything get that bad.

I am interested to know if P21 is strong enough to also cut through the black build up on exhaust tips - but, in all reality perhaps this should be in my arsenal for fine polishing and gloss, and keep something like Meg's heavy cut around for really bad metal/pipes.
