So I received a case of this product on Monday. I have been wanting to find products that accelerate the speed of detailing. From what I've seen so far I will be budgeting for a can of this on EVERY job I do. To say its miraculous is selling it short. It works on both interior and exterior plastics and vinyl, spray on with no need to wipe, the write up on it said that and I thought to myself uh huh, we'll see about that... well barring one spot in my entire car where I overdid it's application in an air vent (it was the first vent I tried it on and figured I would have to go extra hard on application to kill the dust) I've been too lazy to q-tip the dust out of my vents (I will explain why) I had to wipe down nothing.
I applied it on everything in the engine bay, every door panel, all of the dash, the centre console, the steering wheel, every door seal, the trunk seals, the black panel under the rear bumper guard, the hard plastic on the back of my bucket seats, the rear deck, cup holders, window switches, all switches, and dials, the shifter and its boot, everything on the tree, map pockets, even tried it as a tire dressing and its still holding strong even after being run in the rain, most impressively to me was the air and defogging vents and the window seals.
The reason I was so impressed with its effects on the air vents and window seals being this Malibu has been to hell and back with me, My family has two farmsteads in North Dakota, one of which is 13 miles of gravel road to get to my driveway from I-94 (super fine dust lifts off the road and you have a constant dust trail everywhere you go, and I'm usually clocking between 60-90 MPH). I treat it like a farm truck when I'm out there with no shame. Its been through duck hunting, pheasant hunting, and hardest on it of all if I see a varmint they WILL die. I ride with an AR-15 on the passenger seat with a loaded mag in the action and the action locked back with the dust cover closed ( hot female passengers must deal with it between the console and their leg, or ride in the back with my mobility assistance dog no exceptions).
I usually ride these roads with my windows down, which means when you slow to take a turn and you have a strong tailwind you will be inundated with dust. Also I have made more than my fair share of E-brake turns to come back around on porcupines, raccoons, and coyotes... so I've had little spots I've been trying for months to get all the dust out of every nook to no avail.
I opened the air vents and with a quick hit of this product it gets rid of all the dust and coats the inside of the vent they look dark as night now, it also leaves all of the vent veins looking outstanding. The window seals had dust trapped in a channel that is only exposed when the windows are open and I figured with how well it took care of the air vents it must work on the seals this well too, and it did...
What's more is that I'm a dirty filthy smoker and always get ash fragments on my door panel and in the window switches while switching between ashing in a cup holder ashtray in the door while sitting still and the window while at speed. Also my service dog is with me everywhere I go so its a constant battle with her labrador/golden hybrid fur and ashes vs. keeping my interior looking like the car is owned by a detailer... well I was heading to a party last night so I did a quick vacuum out in case I ended up with a pile of drunk chicks who didn't want to uber their way home in my car. My vacuum time was cut in half, usually I have dog fur static-ed in every conceivable place after a day of driving, and yes it was all over panels but, this product has antistatic properties for sure. I usually have to target every individual piece of fur with the vac, with this on my car panels all I had to do was pass by fur and they would get picked up without a second thought, the ashes picked up the same way but a few stubborn ones easily came off with one pass of a microfiber.
Of course the girls who know my car (I shuttle a ridiculous clique of alcoholics on the regular)and with the detail of clean in all the little spots I've neglected for months right away they asked if I got a new car this week. It's that noticeable of a difference. Every time I look at how nice my panels look ZZ Top starts playing in my head and I get a bit turned on. I assumed there would be a high likely-hood this stuff would burn off, degass, or degrade fast because its an aerosol application, but, it still looks as good as it did on Monday in my car, out of curiousity I popped the hood figuring the engine cover MUST have had the product burned off in my typical triple digit free way flying, still looks just as good as the day I applied it.
Best part is if you get some on glass it comes off with Invisible Glass with no fuss, and if you get Invisible Glass on the coated surfaces, it doesn't strip it off... I was so impressed I looked into what kind of engineering went into this compound and apparently Stoner developed door seal dressings for NASA for the shuttles... I think this explains its miraculous properties.
Also my dad is a retired auto parts engineer and salesman who used to post $300million in sales a year. GM still calls him in to critique their new designs seeing we are about 15 minutes from Milford Proving Grounds. I've heard him and release engineers from GM moan for hours on end about how they have wasted so much of their life in vain making sure the dashboard materials didn't reflect onto the glass of the wind shield impairing vision as required by the federal government. Only to have it all wrecked the second some goon sprays the dash with armor all or some other high gloss dressing. So I had him take a look at it with this product applied. Needless to say he is a VERY stoic individual, and super persnickity about things like dash reflection, outdoor rear view mirror size compared to vehicle weight, fasteners, radiator, master cylinder, washer fluid, and oil caps... If the panel fit of a car is off by fractions of a millimetre he will be able to tell you within hundredths of a millimetre from like 40 feet away... I know for a fact that he hates dressings... And if something is wrong with a car he will point it out within seconds...
So with how likely it was he had a bad review of it I figured I'd have him critique it. So he started looking, and he paused before he was able to say anything negative, and he looked a bit longer, and then I got a, "hmmm, it doesn't reflect too much on the dash..." To me thats like the popes blessing on this product.
Another thing I mentally noted was that when applied to things you touch often you aren't left with residue on your hands despite not having to wipe it down during application. I appied it to every concievable surface it could be used on in my car in a matter of about 10-12 minutes... granted I had to start a second 12oz can to finish everything. SO SO SO worth every penny. This stuff will leave your customers VERY happy guaranteed, and it will help anyone who freshens up cars for customers lives so much easier.
How is it I wasn't able to find one review of this stuff has no one tried it?
I regret not taking before photos so much but when I have time today or tomorrow I will post some photos to the thread.
