The RUPES Cable Clamp

I have a saying, goes like this,

The little things are the big things...

And when you deal with the volume of tools and tool power cords that I deal with in Autogeek's Show Car Garage, little things are a BIG deal!

At the last 3-day class, I have 10 VIP Guests from different companies in the detailing industry. Two of these guests were Dylan Von Kleist and Jason Brennan, both from RUPES USA. When these guys saw how many RUPES tools there are in the garage for the class to use and also saw what a spaghetti mess all the cords become after the dedicated RUPES Detailing Class, Dylan and Jason offered to send me a couple dozen RUPES Cable Clamps to organize and manage all the power cords, some of which are very long.

For example, in my review for the RUPES Mille,

Review: RUPES BigFoot LHR 19E Rotary Polisher by Mike Phillips at Autogeek

I show with pictures just how long the Mille cord is and the answer 29' long.

That's a long cord!

To give you and idea, here's three pictures, each one honing down on just the cord to show you what 29' looks like. Note the cord is stretched from the hood of the 1970 AAR Cuda to the far wall.

Now I've cropped out the fluff...

And now just the cord

This picture and the above picture are from the original pictures above...

And when you coil-up 29' of cord, that's a lot of cord coil to manage. When you coil-up 24 cords, that's a nightmare without the RUPES Cable Clamp. So after the class, the RUPES boys sent me 24 RUPES Cable Clamps and I'm happy to say they arrived TODAY!

RUPES polishers for my 3-day classes.

In the past I've used these cheesy strips of velcro to manage all the cords on all the tools and while they work, they are not the perfect answer to cord management.

Not only do the RUPES Cable Clams work much better than the homemade velcro strips but they look better too...

So about a half hour later and I have tamed the unruly collection of power cords from a spaghetti mess to peace and harmony among the power cords...

Comments...

Many of the RUPES polishers come with normal size cords and the RUPES Cable Clamp is a great way to secure the cord to make storing and traveling safer for the tool, the cord and even you. Some of the RUPES power cords are very long. Almost 30 feet long! That's a lot of tools and a lot of cords to manage and also keep coiled-up so the cords are not damage.

The RUPES Cable Clamp is a simple tool, it's a "little thing". But with over 250 tools in our garage for our big 3-day classes, the little things are the big things and the RUPES Cable Clamps keep my RUPES arsenal of tools perfectly stored and staged - ready to go!

RUPES Cord Management Clamp

:)

These look really nice and a great solution for the Rupes long cords.

I actually cut the long cord on my Rupes Rotary……. Maybe if I knew of these first.

Ugh.... I hear you. As a "detailer", meaning a person that only had to deal with my own tools I love long cords and back when I first started detailing I modded my Makita all the time installing fresh 25' cords as the current cords wore out. (I used it for over 20 years before I wore out the gears to the point the gears only slipped, never hooked-up).

But as a trainer that has to deal with probably close to 300 tools in a single garage... cord management is a job. :)

Ouch!

I’ve been using cable cuffs for years on most of my cords and corded tools. These are cool though to keep your Rupes machines tidy!
