I was one of the fortunate winners in the Sonus Review Giveaway contest, here is my review of Sonus Total Eclipse Vinyl, Plastic & Rubber Protectant.
Sonus Total Eclipse is an "SPF-40" level protectant that offers 100% prevention of UV induced slow fade with regular use. The water-based formula works on all rubber, vinyl, fiberglass, plastic and coated leather finishes.
Sonus Total Eclipse does not contain cleaners, solvents or petroleum distillates. The water-based formula is a durable polymer system that offers lasting protection when properly applied. Applied as directed, Total Eclipse creates a natural looking satin finish that repels dust and dirt, so your dash, console, vinyl, trim and tires look better, longer.
For best protection from UV and other damaging elements, apply Total Eclipse every 3-5 weeks. The term "SPF-40" applies to UV protection for your skin.
The dash board was entirely cleaned with Megs APC+ 10:1 ratio, then SousProtectant was applied directly to a Foam applicator....as you can see left side has a high Gloss compared to left side of dash board.
Another view or angle after Sonus being applied.
Pros: Product applys evenly when using either Foam applicator or Microfiber Applicator, non scented, $12.99 for 16.9 oz. (affordable) SPF-40" level protectant that offers 100% prevention of UV.
Cons: A bit too glossy or oily looking for my taste (to each their own, some people like the shiny, glossy look)..to correct this Sonus recommends that you re wipe with a damp cloth, this makes me wonder if the UV protection will decrease?
Summary: I think this is a good product, affordable, easy to apply, versatile, meaning if you want a high gloss look or you can tone it down.
Can be used on mulitiple surfaces: Bumpers,Tires,Plastic windows and repels dust.
Give this product a try, I think you will certainly add it to your aresenal of detailing products !
