Hey guys!
So recently (yesterday) I dipped on a 250ml bottle of Swissvax Car Bath.
I bought this shampoo to go with my SV waxes.
Now I will do an honest full review of this shampoo!
I will be looking at dirt removal capabilities, foaming capabilities, overall look of the glossifying agents (if any), and LSP friendliness.
Info:
Soft as rain water, Swissvax Car Bath is a highly-effective but paintwork- and wax-friendly shampoo concentrate which makes up to 500 liters of wash solution. It effectively breaks the bond between the dirt and the paint surface allowing you to perfectly and effortlessly wash your vehicle achieving best results with ease and in minimum time only. Its pH-neutral formula enriched with nourishing coconut extracts prolongates the lifetime of your Swissvax wax finish and therefore is absolutely safe for regular washing. We recommend the combined use with the Swissvax Waschpudel or a Swissvax Wash Towel for the immaculate and scratch free car wash.
Directions
- 1 capful for 20 litres (1 cap for 5 gallons, roughly a 1:2000 ratio)
- (not written on bottle but advised from SV) 2 capfuls for Foam Cannon
- Wash with warm, but not hot water
- Rinse
Observations:
- Nice bottle
- Coconut scent, very faint, lovely scent overall
- Very thick shampoo, almost like a syrup or molasses
- Metallic silver in colour
Demonstration
Again very thick and silver colour
1 cap in the wash bucket. Now initially I was quite worried that one capful would not be enough. As we all know, sometimes these dilution ratios can be quite off from what we are looking for with regards to suds and what not.
I am pleased to report this is a shampoo that is hyper concentrated and really one cap is quite enough to make wash water!! The water felt very soapy.
2 caps in the cannon
Now the test victim is my C63 AMG wearing SV Insignis V3 wax.
Sorry about the poor shot, still learning my camera. As you can see just a bit of salt spots and dust.
Initial Foaming. Now I am a little disappointed that it really didn't foam up as much as other soaps, but then again this is not advertised as a snow foam!
Something very interesting I have never experienced, the soap seemed to be beading on the wax! Although the suds did cling to the car long enough to wash the car without re-foaming
Now as I washed each panel with my wash mitt, the suds seemed to disappear leaving beaded water
During the rinse I found the shampoo rinsed off with ease. Nothing special but no difficulty. I dried the car with my Master Blaster.
I found this shampoo seemed to restore the hydrophobic properties and gloss to the car. To demonstrate I opened the garage door a crack to get a good look in the sunlight. Keep in mind this wax is nearly 2 months old and has never been QD'd
Pros:
- It actually is super concentrated. You don't need half the bottle to wash the car
- Works well at restoring a high gloss and hydrophobic properties
- Somehow makes you feel special and turns a maintenance wash into a big event
Cons:
- Suuuuuuuuuuuuper expensive!!!! @$70 for 250ml, you paying $2-3 per capful! Not really good for once a week maintenance washes!
- Doesn't foam up too well! Then again it is not a snow foam!
My Take:
Overall I like this shampoo. Its instructions for dilutions are correct and it does a great job, hand in hand with their waxes. I would recommend it, very high quality.
What it Compares to
I would compare this shampoo to Victoria Wax Super Soap. Granted it is not as concentrated as the SV, it definitely has the same quality as the wash with regards to LSP friendliness, dirt and grime removal, and the look of the glossifying agents. Considering that it is a fraction of the price, I would recommend the Victoria Wax Super Soap as a cost friendly, high end, high quality shampoo.
Thanks for reading!
