Introduction:As I’m sure most of you know I’m a big fan of Ultima products. This particular product was one of the last Ultima products that I started using just recently. Due to the name of it, I (like most others) assumed it was a lot thicker then it is. Everyone take note: This is a cleaner that is sprayed from a bottle and does not have to be rinsed off. I want to get that out there since the name implies otherwise. Anyway I believe it was Jim that mentioned to me it was not a thick gel and that was all I needed to hear. I purchased 4 bottles asap. This product was out of the Autogeek store temporarily but I am happy to report it has returned! Thank you Autogeek!!
This weekend I was testing some DP protectant in order to do a review for Shane and I figured this would be a great time to record some data about the Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel (UISG) as well.

Product Description (from AG website): Is it really possible for a single cleaner to properly clean and freshen leather, vinyl, plastic, carpet, headliners and fabric? At Ultima, we say yes! Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel gently cleans all interior surfaces without harmful effects.

Initial Product Observations:1.- Packaging: Ultima Blue Plastic Bottle (See picture 1) spray nozzle included
2.- Directions: Spray, Agitate, Wipe
3.- Consistency: A little thicker then water (See viscosity video)
4.- Color: Clear
5.- Scent: Fresh, clean soap scent
6.- Current Price: $12.99
7.- Size: 22 oz.
9.- Manufacturer: Four Star Products (Premium Finish Care)
10.-Made in: USA

Conditions:62 degrees Fahrenheit
75% humidity

Additional products used for prep, during application, or removal:1.- Microfiber towel
2.- Small Tapioca brush
3.-Separate spray bottle (since I gave half a bottle to a friend at work)

Method of Preparation, Application, and noted Observations: I started by taping off a few areas on the interior for some future 50/50 pictures. I taped off a portion of the seatbelt, the corner of a door panel, the driver side pillar, and the dashboard. Directions recommend applying to applicator and working on a small area at a time. I tried this as well as over-applying directly to surface (as seen in video 3.) Both of these methods worked fine for me. Directions also state to wipe away excess cleaner before it dries. I did this and the finish came out just as advertised. If you allow the product to dwell for a few seconds it seems to clean even easier (as you would expect).
After cleaning different areas with an mf towel and occasionally a brush I paused for the 50/50 pictures. The embedded dirt on the pillar that you will see, the dashboard, and the first half of the door corner (50/50 pictures 03 and 04) were cleaned with the towel. The 2nd half of that door corner as well as the floor mat and the seatbelt were cleaned with the brush. Finally I finished up both doors with UISG and the mf towel.
Half way through my testing of the various interior surfaces I remembered what Jim (Old Tiger) had mentioned to me about UISG results on rubber floor mats. So I reached down and sprayed some product on the drivers side floor mat. I allowed it to sit for a few seconds and then scrubbed for about 30 seconds. (Video 4) After putting away my camera I went ahead and finished the larger portion of the mat. This time I let the product sit a few more seconds before scrubbing. It took a total of about 2 minutes to complete this task. I was quite impressed with how well the UISG worked on those old worn in scuff markings.

After viewing the media please rejoin me for the Pros, Cons, and Summary.

Pros:1.- Ease of use
2.- Viscosity is perfect. Easily spray able but not as runny as water
3.- Safe for all interior surfaces
4.- Leaves the natural sheen that your finish was meant to have

Cons:1.- Doesn’t come in larger bottles

???:1.- Scent is nothing special (just fresh and clean) but this is a good thing when used on my Sky as I don’t like using scented products that interfere with its “new car scent”.
2.- Ignore the name! While I suppose you can call it a gel it is a very thin one that I find to be just right in it’s consistency.

Final Observations and Summary:UISG cleans even ground in dirt effectively and safely. It is of a very functional consistency that works well on vertical surfaces as well. If you plan to seal the interior with Ultima Interior Guard Plus http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...3-review-ultima-interior-guard-plus-uigp.html allow the surface to completely dry for a couple minutes after using this product. Will you like this product as much as I do? I look forward to finding out. Please post your thoughts here if you try it!

Top Notch Review as always! I think I'll give it shot...adding to my cart! :dblthumb2:

You know Corey, I always read each of your reviews, and I enjoy each and every one. This one is no different. Awesome review! :dblthumb2:

Did you compare it against DP Interior Cleaner? If so, which one does a better job and which one do you like better?

I also forgot to ask, what was your process for cleaning the seat belt?

First off let me apologize to everybody for some of the titles running into the text in that review. I was trying to fix font errors caused by the coding and ran out of the 20 minute limit I am given to edit. I sent a message to admin to please allow me to fix this and I will if I hear back.

Also what was your process for cleaning the seat belt?

Thank you Shane! I went back and forth between getting this review ready first or the DP protectant review that I promised you first. I figured since this product is more unknown and Christmas fast approaches I'd get this one up first.

I did not compare it side by side with DP Interior Cleaner however I have been usind DP Interior Cleaner as my "go to" for awhile and the Ultima cleans better. I love the DP scent but in the end scent doesn't dictate my choices. I like the DP alot but I like the Ultima better.

My process for the seatbelts were to spray the product directly onto the seatbelt and scrub it with that brush. Then I wiped it good with the mf towel.
btw: I made a video for the seatbelt process but it didn't go through from my camera or I deleted it somehow. It's nowhere to be found now.

Corey, Whaen you cleaned the belts and after you wiped them down did it feel sticky?

Great review on the UISG. I've been using it for about 4 months on every car I get my hands on. I have yet to find a surface that couldn't be cleaned by it.

First let me thank you again for the new bottle of UISG you sent me :dblthumb2:

I am super impressed with what it did on the seatbelts. I have yet to try it out but I may just fire up the heater and head out to the garage and try it on Mrs D's seatbelts.

Your reviews are great Corey, always like reading/viewing them! Thanks.

Even more excited for mine to show up now.

As always Dog, totally awesome! That's why you are the "Review Master" Thanks for taking so much valuable time to provide us with such a thorough review:dblthumb2:
I actually used mine for the first time last weekend (thank you btw) and I must say; I absolutely agree with you, a really GREAT product. It now shares the number one spot on my interior cleaner shelf with my all time very favorite; 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium ...Both GREAT products!!!!

I did not notice a sticky feeling. After I read your question I went out to the car and double checked. (It's been about 30 hours) I didn't feel any sticky feeling. I suppose if you were concerned you could spritz it with some water in a bottle when you were done but I don't think that is necessary. If it was my Sky maybe I would though.

Thank you, and thats excellent to hear Jon! Glad to hear my feelings reinforced by someone that has spent that much time with it.

You're very kind Tad!! I'm very happy to hear you like it as well! I like the 1Z CP as well (thank you)!

Just went out and looked at the wifes DD seatbelts, they are already spotless... I figured they would be a little worse since it used to be my DD :D

Great review. I see many uses for but I really like how it handled the seat belt.

Nice I'm depth review. Thank you. How does it compare to Powerclean or are they too different to compare?

Well, I placed an order this morning, but seeing as how it is Sunday and hasn't gotten packaged up or anything, I just sent Meghan a PM and asked if she wouldn't mind adding it to my order. Just something else I probably don't need (hell, I really didn't need anything I ordered :nomore:), but I do want to try it out. :props:

Thats a great question. I haven't used Powerclean on an interior so I can't say but I will try to leave work early enough to try some on a couple areas tonight and get back with you.

I hear you Shane! Don't need... but at least this is something you will use! :)

How much was used?

On the seatbelt or the whole interior?

Impressed with all the photos...mostly with the seatbelts. I have always been stumped with a nasty seatbelt as they seem difficult to clean!

I ordered a big batch of stuff yesterday and wish I would have put this in my order!!! Reckon it is too late?

Thanks for the review.
