Review: Wheel Woolies and Boars hair detail brush.
“Wheel Woolies Spoke Wheel Brushes – available in large (18 inch) and small (12 inch) - enable you to clean behind your wheels’ spokes with ease. The head of each Wheel Woolie Spoke Wheel Brush is constructed of super soft, densely packed fibers that remove stubborn brake dust and road grime with virtually no effort. Pair a Wheel Woolie Spoke Wheel Brush with your favorite wheel cleaner and you’ll have a recipe for clean wheels!”(autogeek.net)

Today I got a chance to try the wheel woolies on my 2001 TL, my TL was my lucky winter beater and I have not cleaned the wheels since October of last year, when I reviewed the Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/56245-review-wolfgang-ber-wheel-cleaner.html

So today was a chilly day(high of 40) and I am preparing to take my 2001 TL to Florida next weekend where it will sit at my parents place for 3 month till I move back to Tampa.
I gave the whole car a TRIX treatment and then washed with CG citrus wash.

So here are my thoughts on the Wheel Woolies, Love them!!! First thought was it felt so soft that I couldn’t imagine they would do a good job but I was wrong, once wet they have excellent scrubbing power. Also it made it really easy to get between the caliper and the barrel without getting splashed.
Then the boars head brush made cleaning the lug nuts a breeze, it fits perfect and did a great job of breaking up brake dust. Also ended up using this to clean the fuel door and exterior trim.

Daytona brush or Carrand wheel brush were my go to for cleaning wheels, but the Daytona brush can have some splash back and same for the carrand. Even though the Daytona is flexible, ergonomically the wheel woolies win here with the angled handle. I will now use my Daytona for exhaust tips and cleaning the grill.

For the wheels I first sprayed TRIX and let it sit for about one minute or so then sprayed the wheels with CG citrus wash with a foam sprayer.

First my apologies for not snapping an after picture, when I took the pictures off of my Iphone right now I just realized it.

TRIX started to dry so I sprayed the other wheels with CG Citrus wash.

Again my apologizes for not taking a after pic today but this is what it looked like, but finished with Blackfire CS and Pinnacle Black Onyx.

Feel Free to ask any questions.

I've used them for a while now and love them and just ordered the new angled one can't wait to try it.

I didn't know they have angled handles now. Might have to upgrade. I love my original ones

Thanks for the review. I was looking into these as my daytonas are now used for engine bay duties. I had the same concerns with the 'splatter'.

How long have you had the original? Is it holding up well.

Yea splatter is no issues here.

Nice write up! Thanks for sharing:)

Thanks!

I have the Medium Woolie that I use for my Opti-Guarded wheels. It was recommended over the Daytona for Opti-Guarded wheels on the Optimum Forum.

The Wheel Woolies featured in Dhaval's review are the new "Spoke" brushes (available in two sizes) along with the new "Boar's Hair Detail Brush (available in two sizes)."

Wheel Woolies Spoke Wheel Brush - 18 Inch

Wheel Woolies Spoke Wheel Brush - 12 Inch

Wheel Woolies Boar’s Hair Detail Brush – 1 inch

Wheel Woolies Boar’s Hair Detail Brush – 1¼ inch

:buffing:

Thanks!

About 6 months I'd guess. Maybe a little bit longer. I use them every time I wash my wheels (which is often, thanks to Audi brake pads) and they've held up great so far. No complaints!

I've been looking at these myself and after reading your writeup on them , they'll be added to my next AG shopping list for sure.

Good review, add something else to the list :)

Thanks

Let us know how you like them!

I absolutely love the new angled wheel woolies and the boars hair detail brush's are the best brush's Ive ever owned !!! I actually tossed all my other brush's or set them aside dedicated for the engine bay since I got these new ones offered by wheel woolies. They are incredibly flexible and soft. A quick tip to stiffen the brush's a bit is to add a rubberband around halfway down the boars hair to make the tip more rigid for cleaning the lug nuts or for interior seat cracks.

I got the medium ww. I use it to get in between the spokes of my wheels. The small is too small and the large wouldn't fit in between my brake disc. I needed to buy the race glaze xl wheel brush to get to the barrels.

Now I don't know if it was this review or not, but.... opened my AG box today and sure enough, 3-pack of "woolies" sitting there!:dblthumb2:

Thanks for the review. I'm putting these on my hit list. I hate the splatter of the daytona and it looks like the woolies will have more surface contact to clean better.
