For this review I am using the wheels on my car as the test subject. I have covered 600 miles round trip since the last cleaning driving out to Pasadena California for the 14th annual BimmerFest car show. Below in the pictures you can see that the wheels appear to be decently clean but when hit with a wheel cleaner that has Iron attacking capabilities that changes color while working you can truly see how dirty the wheels really are. After using a few different wheel cleaners that don’t have the abilities of Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner, my preference will always be to use a wheel cleaner such as Uber seeing how this stuff works. It’s just not the same using other standard wheel cleaners and not seeing the product work. You could always chase the standard wheel cleaner with Iron-X or equivalent but now you are adding another step of applying the product, agitating it, and rinsing the wheel down a second time to an already lengthy and time consuming process of thoroughly cleaning the wheels in the first place with a proper wheel cleaner with iron attacking properties such as Uber.

For the tools used for the wheel cleaning process a combination was utilized in the form of the Daytona Speed Master, the Daytona Speed Master PRO, and the Mothers wheel brush. I will be comparing the Speed Master to the PRO wheel brush in this review. After applying a generous amount of Uber wheel cleaner and letting it soak for a few minutes I grabbed the PRO wheel brush and proceeded to clean the barrels of the wheel. The brush head with the bristles are a bit firmer than the Speed Master and the handle is also thicker and sturdier allowing more aggressive agitation without the fear of breaking the handle allowing you to scrub a bit harder if need be than with the Speed Master. When it came to getting the brush between the caliper and the wheel barrel the PRO brush simply would not fit and the Speed Master was used as the stem of the brush is much thinner allowing the Speed Master to get into tighter areas that the PRO version can only dream about reaching.

I wonder how many uses one can get if using generously. Thoughts?

Great review Mike! I have tired the Uber wheel cleaner and I did like it a lot just the price keeps me from it but hey thats me!

Very nice review, Mike!

How does it compare to Sonax FE wheel cleaner?

How long did you let the solution dwell on the wheels? I'm surprised to see that it didn't dry up. How hot was it outside?

Looks like you're working with an awesome combination there. Nice photos!

Sure thing. Who doesn't like a wining combination!?

I must add that all my pictures are unedited. Pulled straight from the camera.

I would say 2-3 cars as opposed to 3-5

Thanks Evan! It is an incredible wheel cleaner and should be purchased in gallon capacity during sales.

Nice review Smack. Call me crazy but I thought the wheels were looking good before. You are a perfectionist. LOL

BTW: your car looks great.

Thanks Marc!

Haven't used SFE yet.

I let it dwell maximum 2 minutes before agitation. Any longer and it would start to dry. It was roughly 90 outside.

Thank you sir!

I do have a bad case do OCD with my black BMW's.

Thanks for the comment on the car.

How does the wolfgang compare to Iron-x, I had always wondered about this sort of thang any suggestions are welcomed.

Nice review Mike, enjoyed your blackfire blackice one and this one.

I always found IronX, Wolfgang wheel cleaner, sonax, all too expensive to clean my wheels reguarly, I've always had great results with just car soap in a bucket (only difference is it doesn't break down iron and turn purple) but for me that was clean enough. Do you regularly use these type of wheel cleaners?
I actually cleaned one wheel with soapy water and another with this wheel cleaner and noticed they cleaned the same (wolfgang was not cleaner) it just was more fun to use due to the purple effect

but overall nice reviews so far, I enjoy reading them

I would imagine that Iron-X being a dedicated Iron remover it may have more strength in it and pull a bit more contamination out.

I will have to try this and see.

Thank you Rock,

I dont always wash and clean my car with a hose. I maintain the paint with waterless/rinseless washes and the wheels with V07. Only when the wheels become filthy do I use Uber with a hose.

Glad you enjoy reading my work. Alot of time goes into them. This review took 3 hours from start to finish.

Thanks for the review Mike. I just might pick up this combo on my next order.

On a side note, I really dig that Alpina lip.

I buy this stuff by the gallon and I will stand strong to say that this wheel cleaner is the best wheel cleaner out there. I call it sonax full effect on steroids.

WG Uber is definitely tops; I will say this though.
Sonax is a better cleaner than uber, but only marginally. On evenly soiled wheels (roughly), sonax will take probably 2 strokes with a daytona brush less than the Uber. That being said, that was only during times when I was actually counting the number of strokes I brushed with; cleaning normally and just attacking the wheels as I normally do, they're exactly the same and frankly kills sonax for me simply due to the price difference. AND the fact that the smell isn't as strong and that it foams and clings very well; bought 2 gallons of it that I haven't even touched yet cause I gotta finish off my last jug of sonax ;) always save the best for last!

Thanks Vin! You really need to pick up a bottle of this to try as well as the brushes.

I think this is the best looking front lip for this car. It is very subtle and flows well with the lines of the car. After all it is an authentic Alpina lip.

I feel this is the best wheel cleaner as well. I absolutely love it. I really like the foaming abilities and the fact that it doesn't just run down the wheel after being applied.

This wheel cleaner is the bees knees.

the price puts it out of competition I think. its over priced when you can get Sonax or 1Z colortec which I like alot for less

Well yes but that's only if you want the 16oz. Once you go to the gallon jugs, it's cheaper and by a pretty wide margin, especially against sonax.
