Review: Wolf's Chemicals “Black Out” Tire and Trim Gel

Quick review of a product I just applied. I recently got a sample of this in, it is Wolf's Black Out Tire and Trim Gel. I used this on my tires, previously I have been using Hyper Dressing which I like pretty well, price is good but it doesn't last very long due to it being water based and it just recently rained.

Here are the products used.

I always go over a tire twice to ensure coverage as well as reduce any high built up areas, With this product I did not have to use anymore product, but I have may used a bit too much initially.

Roughly 10 minutes after:



When I look for a tire dressing I look for a nice satin look that's slightly wet. I do not need to have a tire that looks dripping wet because I'd rather not have it sling all over. I also prefer to apply it late at night so it has all night to dry, you can also wipe off heavy areas to reduce chances of sling or reduce shine if it's too much for your preference.

Overall the product was very easy to apply but the big test is longevity and how it looks after a couple weeks of wear and tear.

Really liking that look. It's not overly done and has a nice clean look.
Thanks it dried to a nice clean look. I apply it in one direction 360 degrees then reverse just to make sure it's completely covered. Although the very bottom part often can push some product on the rim that needs to be wiped off. But hopefully it has some good longevity to it.
 
Nice review, and very nice camaro!

I've been meaning to give this product a try, but will wait until my Tuf Shine runs out. Looks like a nice product.

When I looked it up I believe it's silicone-based because there was some worry about drying tires out. So it should hold up better than Meg's Hyper Dressing if you're in a rainy environment, which goes away pretty quickly if it does rain. Fortunately I'm in Vegas so water-based tire dressings don't bother me much.

But I'll check back in every week or so and show degradation of the shine. Hopefully it holds up for quite a while since I couldn't find any information on longevity.

The above product's description says it's water-based...
and to store it above freezing temperatures [+12°C...(53.6°F ???)] because that may affect its performance.

HMMM:
Could there be more than one: Wolf Chemical "Black Out" product?
Or has: The One...just been "improved upon"?

There's a new version of Black Out. I remember reading that the first version was solvent based.

This is the new, non-solvent version and it's actually much better than the old version! Just make sure the tire is very clean before you apply it, then spray it on and leave it! It stays on my tires for longer than 4 weeks!

Quick update 2 weeks later. Still a nice satin sheen, not as glossy though, but not dull by any means.
