Product used previously: N/A
The XMT series by Pinnacle stands for Xtreme Machine Technology Series. I received my XMT Polishing Pad Conditioner a couple weeks ago as part of a kit. Below is the product information and review.
Product Observations:
Manufacturer Claims: True as far as I can tell
Packaging: Clear plastic bottle with nice spray applicator cap
Consistency: Watery Liquid
Color: Blue
Scent: Finger Nail polish remover (Acetone)
Size Purchased: 12 oz
Regular Price: 12.99
Price Per oz: $1.08
Additional sizes available:
64oz ($35.00) $0.55 per
128oz ($59.99) $0.47 per
Method of Prep:
1.- N/A
Method of Application:
1.- A couple quick sprays
Observations:
1.- This product comes in very handy for priming a dry pad. It also allows you to use your pads longer before switching to a clean pad. I don't know how this product works with every polish on the market but I can say that it worked fine with the Wolgang TSR.
2.- Going forward I will probably use this mostly for priming my dry pad and after cleaning it on the fly I may drop a spritz on it as well.
3.- If you will use this more than I will buy the 64oz ($0.55 per) or 128oz ($0.47 per) and use your original 12 oz. bottle repeatedly or if you can find a spritz bottle that applies as well as this one and you don't care about the "purty label" then go for it!
Pros:
1.- Eliminates Dry buffing at beginning of pad cycle
2.- Keeps pads moist when they become caked and are drying out so you don't need to switch pads as often
3.- The sprayer seems to be sturdy enough to last for quite a few refills
3.- The spray bottle makes it very handy
4.- Easy to use
5.- My favorite Color!
Cons:
1.- In my opinion very pricey for it's purposes
Here is a little of the manufacturer info:
The rich lubricants instantly penetrate the pad, softening and conditioning the material... A pad prepped with Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Conditioner is more receptive to polish because the foam’s pores open up when the conditioner is introduced. Beyond just wetting the foam, the conditioner’s lubricants add extra surface protection during the polishing process. The lubricants will blend with those that are in the polish to provide excellent protection against micro-marring
