RIDGID 4-Gallon 5 Peak HP Portable Pro Vac

After my current "Shop-Vac" brand vac failed me, I decided to go with a RIDGID. The lineup sports a lifetime warranty which is very important to me. I went into Home Depot and to my surprise all vacs were 15% off! This never happens to me. I looked and looked. I needed a vac that was small but portable. I found this on sale for 59.99 (reg. 69.00) and checked out.

When I took it out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the hose size. It's 1-7/8 instead of 2-1/2 or 1 -1/4 making my attachments useless. It also came with only one car nozzle attachment. I was a little frustrated. I did see something else.....a muffler! I put it on and cranked it up. Makes a HUGE difference. I was doing a pretty rough H2 when my other vac let go so I decided to go back and finish the other half with this one. Dear Lord. This thing rocks. Super long power cord meant no extention cords. I did the other half 10 times faster than the first half. This one nozzle did it all. I found the vac actually sucking and sticking to the floor. So much suction. Its the perfect size for a mobile detailer. I will be getting this kit soon though....

Overall, this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. If you want a powerful yet portable vac this is for you. It's like a detailer actually designed it.

Thanks for the great review Justin!! I've been dragging my house canister vac outside. This RIDGID vac sounds great, and at a good price too. Is that accessory kit also available at Home Depot?

Yep.......sure is.
You can do carpets and all with the filter intact. I did yesterday and worked fine. For just water pick up or really wet mats you will want to remove the filter though.
It's a really good vac. Tons of suction.

Yeah. I'm getting mine tomorrow. Heck try it. You can take it back!
But you won't........PROMISE!

Nice review as always Justin. I have a new Rigid that attaches to the garage wall it would be great if the quality is on par with the one you purchsed..

Killrwheels always got the best stuff!

Great review Justin, I have a Ridgid 6.5 hp, got it back in 97 or 98, never has laid down on me.

Thanks Justin, I have been looking at this one, I think I want it more now....

Awesome review! I have a 3HP Ridgid and it's probably the best thing I ever bought. We have stone flooring downstairs and instead of using our regular vacuum cleaner, I vacuum it with the Ridgid. Works so much better!!!

Nice review Justin!! I have a 3hp Rigid that I bought a few years ago, but I'd like a little more power. So, I was thinking of upgrading. However, I was thinking about the Rigid vac that looks like a tool box. It's a little more expensive than this one, but I like the on-board tool & hose storage.

Yeah I like the toolbox one too but this was in my price range..about 30.00 difference.
