Rinseless vs waterless for weekly washes? What do you do and why

So I'm debating on what to do with my truck. It's not a daily driver, but I don't know which way I want to go, wash wise. I want to cut back on my bucket washes.

I have MF madness mitts and eagle edgeless towels, and Uber, d114 and ech2o products. I'm going to also coat the truck in McKees coating here shortly. So hopefully that will help shed the dirt some...

Anyway, what do you recommend I wash the truck with and what method?
 
Real dirty=2 bucket wash
So so dirty=Rinse less wash
Slightly dirty=Waterless wash
 
Depends what you don't mind having----

1. A Wet floor/one sponge (rinse-less)
2. Dry floor/many wet microfiber towels (waterless)

Both are excellent. As for me---I don't mind rinse-less as I do it in the driveway. However, once it gets cold outside, I'll go waterless inside the garage. (dry floor)

I usually do waterless unless the truck is really dirty, then I do a full on wash with the hose. I'm still amazed at what can be done with the waterless wash products out there now. My go tos are Megs D114/115 (depending on what I'm going to do after washing) and McKees N914. Really liking the 914 as of late. I know a lot of guys swear by rinseless, but I haven't found a technique that I really like yet and to be honest haven't really put a lot of effort towards it either.

Can you tell me more about megs 115? Is it like there quick detailer in a spray bottle ? What process do you do I read up a little on their 114 but seems like that stuff takes all your old wax off I just like to clean the dust off a lot so was wondering what 115 does

You can go either way---whole lots of towels or one "big Blue" sponge. I prefer the sponge, too lazy to wash micro fibers towels!
Actually I think the sponge mars much less than the towels.
At the end, saves a load of time. Hang up the wet sponge to dry and toss the damp micro towels (used for drying) in bin to wash later once you get a load.

Seems as if the McKees coating isn't up to par?.... Here we go again back to the list on an LSP..

Thought you wanted to reduce bucket washing a car that didn't see much use. Waterless (no buckets) is one way to get away from the bucket use. Had nothing to do
with coatings. If you were to coat---it's even better using WW. Much better!

I prefer rinseless (using one bucket/one sponge) and not using ton of towels.
Maybe next week I'll give WW a try...

With coatings (Any coatings including McKee's) will have less dirt on paint than a car with just wax. Harder for dirt to stick on a coated car.

Using ONR as of now and loving it! Also have McKee's N914 on standby.
Just mixed a batch of Waterless wash using Mckee's N914. Will give that a go sometime next week.

Read a ton on RW's, but I still love ONR. It's my clay mitt lube, RW, and my truck looks great when I knock off the dust as a QD.

ONR..... From my cold, dead hands. ;)
 
I prefer rinseless if my car shows signs of anything more than very light dirt or dust. I will use waterless if the car is dusty but usually won't use it for more than that. But there are times when I will use both -> When I do a rinseless wash in the winter (when a standard wash isn't possible because of sub freezing temps), I will spray the car with waterless first, let it dwell for a few mins to loosen surface dirt, and then use a rinseless wash.

The safest way to do a rinse less wash IMO is doing the Gary Dean method.

A bucket of rinse less wash and about 10 mf towels soaked in the bucket and never
put it back into the wash bucket after using it on a dirty panel.

IMO using a dirty sponge and rubbing it on your paint is not an ideal way of washing.

Using the roll method when doing a waterless wash is a good and safe method on a not to dirty car.

I hear you. I thought the same thing when I started but it's that blue sponge makes all the difference. It doesn't hold anything, you squeeze it and dirt comes out plus the light blue color of the sponge will show you if its clean or not. I was kind of surprised.

Gerry Dean method is a good one but I am not going to deal with all those towels! If car is that dirty, I'll just break out the hose, hose off the dirt the best I can and then go either 2 bucket or back to rinseless depending on paint/dirt.

Those particular mitts are hard to beat for rinseless washing.. Just keep in mind you'll have to repeatedly rinse them clean as you go along, but IMO they'll outperform any towel or mitt available.
 
Yeah I'm going to coat but reading online I'm getting mixed reviews... Looks like you still can't beat a good sealant.

I hear you Tom, but some don't have the pleasure of using a hose (water restrictions/condo).
