Cleaning rubber mats for someone today and ran into an issue. I wasn't 100% happy on how they came out. Used apc and brush to scrub mats. I also took the steamer and microfiber and wipes more.

Once they fully dried I could still see some dirt deep in th grooves.

What do you guys use give them some shine. I used some meguiars interior protectant but it dried and looked awful.

I use a very little amount of 303. Obviously too much makes it slick. It darkens them up nicely.

Are you using a stiff bristle brush?

I llike using a stiff bristle tire brush and Meg's super degreaser on my Weathertechs. If your brush isn't stiff enough it won't get into the light texturing. I've also seen cheaper rubber mats that stain and won't come clean.

These were factory Toyota rubber mats. Brush wasn't super stiff. Maybe that was my issue.

I clean mine and no matter how much I scrub when they dry they always have a dirty look to them. When there fully dry I give then a light spray with Meguiars hyper dressing at 2 or 3 to 1 and they look better than new when dry and have a nice grape smell. Just be carefull they can be a bit slippery.

your trying to remove years of EMBEDDED dirt which is virtually impossible without spending hours and hours on it.
after a good cleaning I use Hyper dressing. spray it on and let it set in the sun.
Scrub it again. Spray a little degreaser on a terry towel and wipe of all the dressing. repeat this process the next time you wash or detail it.
eventually the Hyper dressing will work out all the dirt.
