So I have been reading many threads and seems like there are a lot of pads people are using on Rupes polishers. Wouldnt be a bad idea to have a thread for people to check into and see what pads/polish combo people are using with each Rupes.

ie

Which Rupes polisher-
Which pads with 6" bp-
Which pads with 5" bp-
Which polish-

Maybe 1-2 sentences explaining what combo you like and what kind of paint?
Keep it short and simple

I have the Duetto and only use Rupes pads and polishes, as they were specifically designed for the backing plate and longer throw. The one time I did not use a Rupes pad was when I tried Ceriglass and got the Rayon glass polishing pads. The loop material on those pads did not mate with the Rupes backing plate well at all.

I also have a duetto with LC HD Pads but havent been able to use anything yet. They are $$$ so the flat pads may be worth a try.

Figure with the sale going on I can pick more up with some input from users.

Have the 21and I used the Megs MF pads with no problem on the 5" plate.

The used various LC foam pads and didn't have a problem.

Of course Rupes and LCHD pads work well with the Rupes machines, but if you're on a budget for pads that work well, look into the new Meg's foam discs and the Meg's MF pads. Just remember to not run your machine too high. I personally wouldn't excede speed 4.5, especially with the MF pads.

I use my Rupes 21 with 6.5" LC Orange and White pads, CG Green Pads (blue sometimes), and MF pads - from CarPro, Meg's, LC rotary MF pads and Rupes MF pads. I didn't have the pleasure to work with UHS system. I have some HD LC pads but didn't use it yet. I mostly use Rupes for first stage and AIO for cheap, lowballer customers. Finishing is for the Flex.

I've used the green and blue Hex Logic on a Duetto, as well as Rupes' own microfiber discs. I decided that I wanted to try the system as intended, so I ordered the Zephyr, Keramik, and the corresponding blu3 and yellow Rupes foam pads

The Hex Logic pads I used did fine, and I could probably get by with them if I needed to.

Go with the RUPES pads and compounds. It really is all designed to work together. Unless you really need a specific solution, no product hunting is needed.

I already bought 32oz of fg400 and sf4500 along with 8oz of Sonax PF....also have 105/205 which I dont plan on using ever again.

Just looking at what other pads I can use without breaking the bank. I prefer foam over MF.
