Hi AG Folks,

I had this on the Autopia forum and thought I would post here as well.

Just received my iBrid Nano Long Neck the other day and decided to test it out tonight as I had some time. Was super excited to test it out.
Charged both batteries fully. Only took about 15-20 min which is pretty fast. Tool itself looks and feels awesome.

I seem to be having an issue and I am not sure if its just me or may be its defective? (I am on literally 0 sleep as we just had a newborn baby so it very well could just be me lol)

Well, I attached the 12mm DA and the 2in backing plate. The machine turns on properly. When I engage the trigger I hear the motor running but the head does not spin at all. I also tried in rotary mode as well with the cleaning brushes. I can hear the motor but nothing is spinning. I checked the locking mechanism to make sure it was not engaged or stuck and it is not. If I turn it by hand to make sure it is not locked it does move freely with no issues.

Sorry it is not letting me embed it in the post.

Anyone else experience this? Does it seem like a defect or just user error?

Thank you any help would be appreciated!

Definitely something not right there. Give Rupes a call and they'll take care of it.

Thank you I will reach out to Rupes as well. I was hoping it was user error

I had this exact same issue with my long neck. Contact Rupes and they'll take care of it no problem. It was confirmed defective by one of their technicians.

Unfortunately, the wait to get a replacement has been long. I think they recieved my kit about 3 weeks ago. Still no replacement yet but hoping to get it this week.

Thanks Stanced.

I just spoke to Steven from Rupes (great guy). Apparently, some of the long necks are having an issue with the internal connector coming loose or damaged. Great customer service though, got a call back within an hour and starting the return process to receive a new one.

Sad about the long wait though but I will have to live with it :)

Had the exact same issue, contact Rupes USA if in USA and give them your AG Order #. They will take care of you. If you are in Canada it may be more tedious as Rupes is an Italy based company and therefore has NAFTA issues into USA and then to Canada. Took me awhile but eventually got it sorted out and it is worth the wait (machine and pad combo's work as advertised).

I got my replacement yesterday! Everything works! Absolutely love it. Used it for a quick 10 mins and it was a joy to use.

So I'm assuming this is worth the money?

I really want it for the case it comes with LOL

Yeah this thing is pretty neat. maybe someone will buy it to me as a gift one of these days... I wish my wife read these forums :D

Where are you guys finding the long necks? I need one to compete with my short neck to see which one I prefer.

When mine arrived it didn't spin either. Once I got the replacement I took the original apart. There was a plastic "cog" that connects the vertical motor to the base of the horizontal shaft. One is supposed to be female and one male. Both were female. Unfortunately in testing I put the battery in backwards and fried the control circuit board so have to find alternate. Also have to make a double sided male "cog" to fix. By the way Rupes owned up on the problem and took very good care of me.
