I am just a weekend detailer on my own vehicles. Have the old Meguiars G110 and have used for many years. I have both the 5" and 3" backing plates. I just purchased the LHR15ES as an upgrade from my Meguiars polisher. I plan on using the G110 as a dedicated 3" polisher and the Rupes as my dedicated 5" polisher. What recommendations would experienced Rupes users have for using the LHR15ES? I currently use Meguiars pads/microfiber system on my G110. Very excited to start with the Rupes polishers after reading this forum.

Here's my take... I show this in all my classes too, it's a real eye-opener.

The Air Test - Using NON RUPES pads on RUPES Polishers by Mike Phillips

The Air Test

In this picture, this RUPES BigFoot 21 is running on the 6.0 speed setting and is vibration free.

I came up with a simple test ANYONE can do to test if a non-RUPES buffing pad is compatible with a RUPES polisher.

Buy Mike’s book on the Rupes System approach. Money well spent. And buy extra yellow Rupes pads.
