Happy St. Patty's Day!!

I received my Rupes Yellow pads and they have this Red stain from the Rupes logo on them. I tried cleaning it to remove the stain, but nothing works. Will this ruin the pad? Anyone else experience this?

Not sure why would put a Red logo that leaks on the back of a pad, seems odd.

That happened to mine too when I was soaking them... I'm not worried about it.

But I agree, a more colorfast dye should be used.

That seems excessive. I've seen a ton of Rupes pads and normally there is just a slight red bleed through.

It should not hurt the performance of the pad, but I know what you mean, you bought a new pad and got a blemish. Not cool.

I would contact them to make sure they are aware of the problem. I had to do same with Chemical guys trigger on a a few bottles I bought.

They do bleed through, yours seems like a lot but I think it will be fine, soak it a bit and wash it and most of the red dye will go away.

Well, you can easily identify your Rupes pads from others now, Leo.

Thanks everyone! I call and see what they say. I let it soak in Mckees pad cleaner and nothing. I hope it doesn't hurt its performance .

Just to chime in....


That type of staining or discoloration is nothing. There's nothing to be worried about.

I wouldn't hesitate to use that pad on ANY detailing project. Just make sure it's clean in that there's no surface dust or contaminants and go for it.

I would say the majority of pads in our garage are stained from YEARS of use and abuse and until the velcro backing is coming off we just continue to use them.

Sounds like about half my pad inventory. Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover or the old Blackfire's old SRC polish, which are purple liquids, stained almost all of my white LC pads and they are now a strange gray color.
