I detail my own cars and I am looking to purchase a new Buffer. I have a Cayman and a Lexus RH. I am looking at the Rupes 12 Duetto or the Bigfoot 15? I presently have a Porter Cable but it seems the Rupes are a much better polisher. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Happy Holidays to all.

Rupes 15 I love mine, it's effortless and smooth............

I love my 15. It's super smooth. When teemed with the Rupes pads and polishes attacking defects and getting great results is a no brainer. It's almost idiot proof. I like the long body and that it requires little downward pressure to get the job done. Polishing a big hood is easy, because you don't have to stoop over the middle of the hood. You can just hold the polisher by the back and give it some downward force.

I don't know of any benefits the Duetto has over the 15/21 - unless you want to use it for sanding as well or you must have a short machine for some reason. The Duetto I believe is going to be a few bucks cheaper, about $320 I believe.

I would wait and look at the reviews on the new Rupes Duetto. It's a 5" dual action machine with a lot of power. AG has it on sale now in a kit package. If you wait they will soon sell it by itself. Price should be around $320.00.

Thank you for your responses and suggestions. It sounds like the Rupes 15 is the one to get. I guess now would be the time to order it since it is on sale. Happy Holidays and detailing to all.

Yeah I'd jump on it. The Duetto vs the 15 go with the 15. The Duetto should really retail for about $250.00 compared to the 15 which is a work horse.

Can you use Wolfgang Polishes with Rupes pads or should I use the polishes recommended for the Rupes 15. I am deciding which kit to order. Thanks

Both polishes are good, yes you can use WG polishes. I like the Rupe's polish I've used so far a lot. I just picked up 2 more as well. It just seems like Rupes did their homework designing all the products to be used together. One thing I noticed, the Rupes pads don't gum up much if at all.

I use Wolfgang and Menzerna and Blackfire with excellent results. The Passat was done with Blackfire Total Polish and Seal prior to the Black Ice.

Used this combo on my 2003 Xterra a few weeks ago as a test bed. Great results, totally swirl free.

Have you polished out a car with the Duetto?

Great results. I love the Wolfgang products. I'm going to order the package with the 4 pads. Thanks to all who responded. It is much appreciated with this enthusiast.

If I could only get one I'd get the Flex but I'm under the philosophy that you should have both.
