Hey all. New member here looking for advice. I was washing my car and ran into rust bubbles.

Long story short. I took it to a body shop who told me 600 and no warranty. Since rust mich reappear.

When I was about to leave he told me that he wouldn't pay the 600. Instead told me to get a sharp razer blade and cut and scrape the bubbles out and the paint until bare metal. Then dab some primer on and then use a touch up paint brush to cover.

I really don't want to do that haha.

So. If I just left the bubbles will it spread?

It will defiantly get worse if you leave it alone, I would do exactly what the body shop said except I would use a rust converter before you prime.

Get POR15 and Nuxudol.

POR15 will stop the rust from spreading and Nuxudol is a wax type rustproofing coating.

Sand down as much rust as possible and 1/4" around the area. Prep the surface with Prep & Ready that came with the POR15 kit. After that dries apply POR15 with a paint brush. If possible remove the interior panel and treat the rusted area from the back with POR15. POR15 will dry black but don't leave it exposed to the elements and light. If it is exposed it will deteriorate and no longer prevent against the rust. Use touch up paint to paint over the exposed exterior area. After everything has dried, spray Nuxudol to the back of the panel.
