Hi AGO!,

Was wondering if anyone can point me the in right direction on how to fix this rust issue I have.

I have sanded down and prime and painted my trunk but it really looks like a POS.

Looks like Frankensteins monster.

I got some bondo / Primer / OEM Matched Paint and sand paper - is there anything else that I need to tackle this?

Is there a guide that someone can recommend?

Thanks!

I'd recommend watching videos on YouTube to see how the process works. To perform the repair correctly can be a fairly intense process. Especially if you have never done it before.

Most shops would recommend repainting the whole decklid. Spray the basecoat for blending the color, then clearcoat the entire trunklid.

Silver is one of the more tricky colors for matching and blending. The metallic flakes can be difficult to lay properly. I'd recommend taking it to a reputable shop to have the work done.

I was actually thinking of doing the entire bottom portion of my trunk lid since I can tape off the rest of the trunk...

Is there blending at all if I am painting the entire panel i.e. the bottom lip.

I have to get some estimates to see how much this would cost.
