Looking for a little or allot of advice. My mother-in-law has a white Subaru with a rust spot about the size of a quarter. What's the best way that this could be fixed? wet sanding? bondo?

Feed back please

Hmmm...sounds like a trade...rust spot touchup for meet location...hmmm

EDIT: So is this surface rust or a hole?

Normally when it comes to rust what you see is just the tip of the iceberg. If its only surface rust you can sand or wire wheel the affected area, but your going to have repaint. If its really bad you'll have to cut it out and replace the metal.

Hi Mike,
Look into Por 15, rust bullet, or rust encapsulator. People seem to prefer Por-15, you can purchase a starter kit for about $25.00. It's a 3 step process which is not that difficult to apply, but you need to watch the humidity when applying it. If its humid the paint will cure fast and not have time to bond which may cause peeling later on.

Thanks guys. I looked at it for the 1st time yesterday (wish I took a picture) and it just looked like surface rust. The metal still felt pretty strong under it.

How big is it? If this car is really going to be part of the detail meet in your other thread, I'm sure we can make it look a lot better. Convert it if necessary, sand, prime, sand, touchup paint, polish.

Only about the size of a quarter. I'm goinh to their house this weekend for my niece and nephews birthday party so I'll snap a picture and also see if she's serious about letting us use the space for the meet.

Won't be a problem. There is a dealer near my condo on 27 (I think Somerset) so I can get touch up paint from there.
