Hello,
What are you guys charging for RV's/5th wheels/Motorhomes? Do you charge per foot per side or just by the total length ie 25 ft 5th wheel would be $X25. I've been charging by the foot total length and wanna make sure I'm charging enough/ the norm.

Also what do you include it your pricing/package? Polish or 1step or cleaner wax?
Do you detail the interior? Do you act like Merry Maids and clean the bed rooms, kitchen and toilet?
What products are you using for the exterior and on decals? The roof?
How long does it take you to complete? Do I need to change my insurance to cover RV's? Right now I'm under garage keepers insurance and I know I need to call my insurance to get a correct answer and that but just wanna see what everyone is doing.Feed back please
 
Basic package
Wash; $120 - 90 min on a 40'
One step: $250 AIO - 6-8 hrs - 40'
Interior:$250- but only if full detail is involved. Yes, Merrymaid style indeed. - 4-6 hrs 40'
Every square in. including inside of drawers, cabinets, closets,cubby-holes, washer/dryer-all appliances including stove,cooktop,micro, double-sided fridge,carpet extraction,lemon pledge on all wooden surface... all bathrooms/toilets,etc

Do not offer smoke removal unless you have Pro equipment.
This price is for vehicle in near showroom condition. Basic package. Time does not include set-up or breakdown of equipment used.

Zep purple and a beveled split bristle nylon truck wash brush on a 8' extendable pole-on the rubberized roof - be careful where you step and watch pw hose around all plastic parts.

I am very proficient- also efficient with my processes as I have performed hundreds of full details on rv's in every style and condition.
Do not be timid when it comes to pricing oxidized or extremely filthy units - usually due to customer shopping for a cheaper price after being Pro quoted. You'll be sorry if you underbid hand.
I am certain that the Cali market pricing is even going to be higher- EVERYTHING costs more in Cali - IMO

For exterior wash and wax I charge$12/ foot based of total feet. For 1 step polish and wax and clean roof and awnings, $18/ ft. don't really ness with the inside unless its an RV then I only clean the drivers area/front area. I dint so toilets. I'll clean the carpet inside if needed.

That works out to around $6.25 / ft for a one step and wax? Seems super cheep. Are you charging $250 in addition for the interior? Meaning are you charging $250 just for the interior?

Interiors require many various household chemicals (oven cleaner comes to mind) and the price adds up quickly.
RV's can be alot of fun IMO. Meet people from all walks of life. I had Chriss Angel as a customer for two years.

I never charge by the foot. Whether it is a 40' Vectra or a 35' Montana 5th wheel it's $120/wash. I don't know of anyone that charges total feet. Footage is the lenght of the coach.

One step polish or wax. Only one process after wash.
$120 wash
$250 polish or wax - customer choice; most choose wax.
$250 interior.
$620 plus any upsells. Not to mention, everybody tips in Vegas.
3-5 details per week plus 5 or so washes per week.
Class C and B vehicles are priced lower depending on size.
Class A usually 2 bath , and three sleeping areas.
Fifth wheels, depending on models, have bunk beds, master 1-2 baths, ceiling fans and fireplaces.
Toyhaulers usually priced lower that fully decked 5th wheels.
Never price without eyeballing. I am familiar with most makes and models (floorplans H,C,J,etc.) and sure in my pricing. Haven't tapped into the Md. market since leaving Vegas.
 
I'm still developing my game plan for Rv's I was planing on really developing the Rv part of my business and hopefully specialize in just Rv's down the road. I think there's a real market of on site detailing for seasonal campers. Those things never leave so someone needs to go to them. Until then I'll be watching this post and doing cars to get started

To get to this point you have to understand exactly what the customer wants. You'll be hard pressed to find any serious correction work (except to fix someones else's mistake) . Most of the people that I have serviced were into protection details, winterization, pre/post trip clean-up, and pre/post sale. I was lucky enough at the start to be in a market that was heavily saturated with RV's.

It is usually difficult to BS your way into detailing high$$$ coaches, if you don't know what you are talking about while explaining your processes to a potential client. Many have been in the RV world a long time (and have made newbie mistakes and decisions) and belong to multiple forums and social RV groups. I suggest that you look into some of the RV'ing forums, or at least consort with other RV detail specialist, to get a better understanding of your future potential clients.

I hope that this post helps you in some way.
 
Thanks for the advice i bought my first RV 18 years ago and have owned several over the years. The big thing in the industry right now is the appearance package. If people are fronting 3000 dollars plus to get the full colored gel coat I think(hope) their willing to pay to keep it looking nice

I charge around $12 bucks a foot.
I don't do interiors, I'm not a maid!
I'll clean the cockpit only.
I use M20 mostly but M50? is a gel coat cleaner wax I use on the front/back gel coat.

I always charged by the linear foot, and I also never did the insides. There is a campground up the road from me and they used to keep me pretty busy, they would show the new people coming in and they would give us a call. It is a good way to make some money, since even though they are large, they are mostly flat.

So if it's a 25 ft trailer does that mean

Does that mean $15 x 25 x 2 and $15 x 8.5 2?
