Almost any auto paint supply stores will carry it. What's so special about purple?

All the purple clay bars I've ever tried were so hard (S.M.Arnold comes to mind) that they tend to scratch paint easier than a soft clay bar (Meguiars smooth surface comes to mind).

I tried to use the grey bar and did not remove the hard baked tree sap mist looking dots . So i want to try purple. Thanks

Sometimes the best way to get tree sap is to dissolve it with a solvent. Have you tried IPA or mineral spirits?

There was a thread on this a few days ago.

Read here:

I've personally used Purell's Hand Sanitizer per a member's review. Steamer helps too.

I just got the same steamer that you guys used in your impromptu thread and was thinking it would work good for softening large sap droplets. I've found alcohol after warming an area with a heat gun to work OK, but I want it off faster so I resort to more extreme solvents.

I'll have to give the steamer a try next time I see the issue.

Thanks guys, i tried alcohol did not help. I think i will order Tarminator on line. Will update soon...
