Sanity check prior to first major purchase

I want to thank Bobby G, and TruckButt (Scott), from my first post requesting guidance. Now, if either of you, or anyone else can help me fine tune my initial purchase I would appreciate it. From the majority of the first recommendation, here is what I plan on buying now (In addition to MF towels):

Flex 3401 polisher
Lake Country Hybrid Pads: 1 Orange, 2 Blue, 2 White, 1 Black
Wash - Duragloss #901
Clay - MothersCompound
Compound PG 1000 – PowerGloss Compound (POS34A)
Polish - PF 2500 – Power Finish Polish (PO203)
Finishing Polish - SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish (PO106FA)
Tire Cleaner - Meguiar's Super Degreaser
Tire Treatment - CarPro PERL
CG BlackLight Radiant Finish
CG Hybrid V7

Is this enough to get me going in the right direction?
Do I need wax (Colonite) in addition to the above?
And, what do I use to spray the polishing pads with (water, or V7)?

I think you need some ONR for clay lube (can also be used to spritz your pads) and rinseless washes

I'd also add some optimum car wax.

That all looks ok, can't comment on the CG stuff and I don't use any of it. COmpounds/polishes you will have to decide if you like them, so try it out and go from there. I WOULD, however, recommend getting more pads than that, especially the cyan pads.

It think you will need more pads. I would look at about (4) of each as it is easier and better to switch to a new clean pad while your others dry from being cleaned. Also I usually use 4+ of each type as I make my way around a vehicle.

Clay - Mothers

The mother clay kit is ok, but not my favorite. I the Sonus Clay or the ClayMagic BLue you can get at the auto parts stores. If you go this route you will need a clay lube and ONR is a nice option as it works well and it multi-purpose for me.

Compound PG 1000 – PowerGloss Compound (POS34A)
Polish - PF 2500 – Power Finish Polish (PO203)
Finishing Polish - SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish (PO106FA)

You can't go wrong with Menz polishes. Depending on you cars color you may not need the SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish.

Tire Treatment - CarPro PERL

Some people really seem to like Perl. I personally would lean towards something more like Opti-Bond. But that is personal preference.

This seems to be a very popular combo lately. Although the looks are nice it is not as durably as other options. If this is a daily driver I would go for a true sealant like BFWD topped with a wax. But is this is a "special" car the this combo will work great.

And, what do I use to spray the polishing pads with (water, or V7)?

It definitely looks like you are on the right track.

If this is a daily driver I would go for a true sealant like BFWD topped with a wax (Colli 845). But is this is a "special" car the this combo will work great.

I would not use V7 to prime my pads. It is an LSP type product. You can use distilled water to prime your pad or ONR at clay lube dilution. (See multi-purpose)

Hey Larry,

Pads and Microfiber towels are items you almost can't have enough of... Everything else however looks good.

Optimum No Rinse is a nice product that has a variety of uses so Troy's suggestion is spot on!

I am heading home from Afghanistan next week, so I want to order this all prior to this weekend. (how mad could the wife possibly be when I first get home?). I am picking up a new 2012 yellow Challenger SRT the day after I return. But, I will also have family daily drivers to help justify this purchase.
So, I upped the number of pads, added ONR, and kept the Mothers Clay as that also comes with spray detailer/lube, and will order a gross of MF towels.
I guess I am still stumped, as to whether I should/need to add Colonite wax or some other wax to the arsenal.

Collinite 845 is a fabulous wax that leaves the finish glossy and with a durability between 4 and 5 solid months. That said, at $15.00 you almost cannot have it on the shelf...rops: .....I added it above....

For a daily driver I personally would go with sealant like BFWD, BFCS, Mez PL as they are more durable but still provide avery nice finish. If you want top it with wax then you could take your pick. I love Colli 845 & OCW. But almost any wax will work great.

Roger that. I ordered everything on the list above...and then some yesterday. Insane to think that my wife is going to be on board with that investment. I think maybe I should stay here in Agh. for a while longer, until it is safe to go home.
