so i decided to do a couple test spot on the hood of my 2008 tarmac black lancer yesterday night to see if I could remove the scratches and holograms galore the dealer induced in my car paint.

good new is i removed a good bit of the scratches and the holograms/buffer trails are gone from the test spot but the problem lies here, there is still a buch of scratches apparent to me even if i restored the clarity of the paint!

Do you think i need to work the product in more ?

the test spot was done using 3m beige compounding eggshell pad with presta ultra cutting creme followed by 3m black eggshell polishing pad and presta swirl remover.

I still have a 1/4 bottle of meguiars #2 if it can be of any use

How many section passes did you do? And how slow were you working? Using a rotory or DA?

You may need to work the section longer or you may need to go with a higher cutting pad/polish combo. It could be a number of things. This is why you do your test spot. You do your whole process in that area, so you are sure that it works.

It also could be that those are deeper scratches that you won't be able to get out by polishing, but they look like they are minor scratches that you should be able to polish out.

i work with a rotary, didnt really monitor my pass but i think i did go too fast that may be a reason

and well i would have like to use my wool pad but i cant seem to find it!

Yeah you should monitor your section passes and how fast your actually moving the rotory. You want to move slowly, it's easy to not even realize how fast your moving across the section.

Just keep practicing and you'll eventually find a technique that works for you. Typically, I do 5-6 section passes, then wipe and inspect. Sometimes I have to do another 2-3 passes, but usually 5-6 good passes works well. You should search some of Mike Phillips videos. Always better to have a visual.

i think i did a single 1/4 overlaped pass ,wiped down redid the same and again with the swil remover ,the problem may lie there hehe
