This morning a guy scratched my headlight lens with his pickup tire. I need your expertise as to how you would fix it. You can see the scratch from the side of the lens and going across. It is not deep (i.e. can't catch fingernail in it), but is scratched.

Thanks

Some compound and polish should get it out. I would just get a rag and some compound and go at it.

If the compound doesn't work you can always sand it (not hard) but before you sand it try the compound with a da

What kind of car is that looks like a cool headlight lol. looks like a 4 runner?

Thanks. It is a MB SL550. When I walked out to the parking lot where the guy told me he hit it, my first thought was oh crap! because of the convertible mechanism. When I saw where he "rubbed" it with his tire I was actually relieved.

The Megs took quite a bit of it out when I tried it during my lunch time. Maybe 75% but left individual scratch marks that are apparently a little deeper. I will try a little more with the Plastx, but I think the deeper ones are going to require some compound if not a little wet sanding.

A good polish/compound should take care of that no problem.

I actually had to wet sand it. I polished with the Plastx and it just wouldn't do it. I then pulled out some Menzerna 2500 and got a little more out, but still not everything. I finally tried some 1500 before giving up and wet sanding with 3000 grit. It removed it all and then I polished it to eliminate any sanding scratches. The good news it it looks like new. The bad news is I spent too much time before just going to t wet sand it.
