My Dirt Guardz Scrub wall came in and it doesn't properly fit with the Screw Tite Bucket Lids System.
I haven't used the *lids* portion in over 15+ years but the threaded portion has remained on the buckets since for at least 15+19+ years.....

My 1st initial inclination was to use a needle nose...but after taking a look and seeing the it was't going to come off easily with the needle nose

So for someone to stumble upon this thread, this is the fastest way on removing the tight threaded caps
With bucket on the floor, and one sitting down no the floor. Stick Both feet in the bucket and just Yank on the bucket collar with yours hands as the open end of the bucket is facing your, it's super easy to just rotate and yank the collar until the entire assembly frees from the lip of the bucket.

Unless everyone does it this way already and I'm the 🤔 out there.

I'm not familiar with that brand but if it's anything like the Gamma Seal line I'd imagine it might also help to introduce heat to make the material more pliable. The first Gamma Seal lid I installed was quite an effort (and admittedly I was initially overly cautious in hammering it home) but after that I set them out on my window sills in the afternoon sun and they went on much more easily. If I ever have to remove them I'll probably use something like a hair dryer/heat gun to warm them up. Thanks for the heads up on the scrub wall not interoperating with the lids; I've been back and forth on those walls for a couple years now and if they don't work with the lids then my pendulum has back swung hard to the "don't buy" position.

Yes, Gamma Seals. I recall probably using a rubber mallet on putting them on.....and recall saying it was going to be a bear removing them in the event I should.

Between my feet inside the bucket pushing against and just the prying of the pulling in the opposite direction, it made it quick work with the opposing leverage (albeit it did require some hand strength to pry it so it would break it past the lip of the bucket).

I haven't used it yet, but it does appear to be a nice -upgrade- of Scrub Wall - Dirt Guards (replacing my Chemical Guys version). Prior to these, the CH replaced my OG Grit Guards. And if it matters, the Dirt Guardz products does have it etched Made in Canada.......which was a slight surprise it not being made in the land of AlibBaba

I agree that the Detail Guardz variety seems to be better than the OG Grit Guards. I haven't and probably won't ever measure them side by side (or side by each up nort' dere, eh) to compare efficacy but in-hand they just seem to be of higher quality. Wasn't aware of the Made in Canada aspect but that's a nice plus as well, IMO.

I was fairly -content- with the CG grit guard
When I pour out my buckets, I aim to leave a bit of water higher than the grit guard.
I then remove them to at least confirm my findings....as there is always sediment below the CG GG post emptying the buckets

but a recent thread or thread here BRUMPED my curiosity on the DG system.....like all AGO threads....it makes you want to endlessly buy more krap
