Hey guys, new to the site. I picked up a set of wheels a couple weeks back and I was wondering what would be a good sealant to protect the finish of the wheels. The centers are painted and the lips are polished aluminum (no clearcoat or anodizing). These are my first real "nice" wheels and I want to keep them that way.

Also while I'm on the subject, what would be a good polishing compound for the wheels?

thanks everyone

DP Wheel Glaze works wonders on all rim types, and my favorite for chrome, cleans and protects for a good while and cutsbrake dust in half. I seal my wheels with Collinite Insulator Wax or Klasse Sealant Glaze. You could also clean and seal them with Klasse All In One, then seal them. Both work equally well, but I always first clean them with the DP Wheel Glaze. Don't use any type of carnuba based sealants or paste waxes on your wheels, it attracts brake dust.

depends on how how strong the cleaner your using during washing is, but I would say average 4 months give or take, still I always redo mine every other month or sooner.

DP or Poorboys Wheel Sealants ...

I was actually looking at getting the poorboys. Appeals to me because it is just one product that I have to apply. Would you know if you have to wait 12 hours per layer just like the other ones mentioned in the thread?

I dont find the need to layer it truthfully, one coat and buff off. If you want a similar product with some light cleaning ability also consider the DP version. Both are easy to use and results beneficial.
