Can any one recommend a long lasting sealant for freshly polishes aluminum? I've spent way too much time polishing out the wheels on my old hot rod and I'd like then to look good as long as possible.

If you want to protect them for longest possible time with minimal maintenance, then you should consider a coating!

Otherwise, you can use WOWA sealants like opti-seal or Ultima paint guard plus.

Or Collinite metal wax

WOWA? sorry I dont know what that is.. I'm still trying to catch on to all the abbreviation.

WipeOn WalkAway

As in you just wipe on the sealant with a sponge applicator and it flashes on its own. You don't need to come back and buff it off! (awesome thing! :D)

Ah I get it,,, duhhh
What about Poorboy’s World Wheel Sealant?

I agree, Opti-Coat or CQuartz might be a great way to go but I haven't tried them on metal. I assume they have no issues bonding.

I've heard great things about Collonite metal wax but not sure about its durability.

If you have any Ultima Trim and Tire Guard on hand I would recomend giving that a try.

Collinite metal wax gets my vote for bare aluminum!

The Collinite metal wax is great stuff!!!!

This is a Kirkham Motorsports Cobra replica in bare polished aluminum. The manufacturer and many owners of these car have tried many kinds of "sealants" with little or no luck. There is no such thing as a sealant for bare aluminum.

There is an aircraft aluminum clear coating on the market, but it changes the look of the metal. I've been using Meguiar's Metal Polysh on my Halibrand replica wheels with excellent results. It leaves a protective coating that resists oxidation. I polish then apply Meguiar's M21 paint sealant. I keep the wheels clean with car wash soap and re apply the M21 once every two months. I polish annually.

Polish your wheels, keep them waxed, keep them clean and you should be good for a year.

The product has been discontinued, but Auto Geek still has it in stock. Neguiar's also makes a metal polish in their Marine Line with similar or greater protective qualties. That's my new choice
