Are all waxes and sealants compatible with one another?

Specifically carnuba's as a topper on sealants. And more specifically, I have a jar of Zymol's Carbon I want to try, and was thinking about 4 star sealant. Will be on my black Speed 3.

Anyone have any experience with Carbon?

Thanks

I can't think of any LSP that's not compatible with sealants, polishes, etc. That's what they are designed to do, topcoat anything.

I don't know a thing about Zymol products.

It's is said that you can top a sealant with Carnauba but not top Carnauba with a sealant. You should put your sealant on first and as many coats as you want until you put your Carnauba on. Once you put Carnauba on, you should only apply more coats of Carnauba. Make Sense?
I think it is thinking that sealants will not bond properly to the wax. I don't think it does anything but not give the longevity the sealant would have if applied to the paint itself.

When topping a cured sealant with a wax you must be careful to make sure the wax has no cleaners and no polishing ability as it will remove the sealant. Likely some of the ingredients in a pure 'nuba wax can effect the durability of a sealant anyhoo.

Carbon is Zymols cheapest wax and IMO is the blandest. I could name dozens of waxes even those from Pinnacle and Wolfgang and Dodo that work better and easier. If using Zymol as a topper I would suggest starting with Concourse or perhaps the newer Ital formula.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure. The Carbon was a gift, but not so sure I want to use it now. :) Thanks for the help

I'm a professional painter and I think of it as painting.

Clean smooth surface.
Polish enhancer. (Primer)
Sealant (Base coat)
Wax (Gloss enhancer and protection coat)

Of course the sealants do not require wax but it sure makes them look fantastic!

This is not a rebuttal. I figure with your experience and ties to AG, you might shed some insight on this long standing theory on the boards. . The answer given above is the general thinking, Do you agree that is the belief and general
accepted practice?
Secondly, What is the solvent in most nubas that keep them
in a paste condition? I would believe it would be mineral spirits or such that would evaporate and thus haze as we call it. If that is so, then I can understand the idea that a nuba could compromise the sealants integrity. Your thoughts Killr? :dblthumb2:
