Hey everyone!

I am officially new to the forums but have been reading for quite some time. I have recently bought new aftermarket wheels and looking to find a way to seal them and protect from the elements.

I was recommended two products CarPro Reload and Sonax ploymer net shield.

From my research Sonax polymer net shield might be my best option. In terms of ease of use and longest lasting on the wheels. Just trying to get everyone elses feedback on the products for this use? And being that they are brand new wheels should I just do an ISO wipe down or do a quick final polish?

Also I plan on using Soxax brilliant detailer ontop of the net shield in hopes of adding the the protection and adding to the shineFeed back please

Thanks for everyone's help!

What brand of wheel is this and what are they going on?

Have you considered a coating instead of a sealant? The coating will last longer and offer better protection.

Between these products I would
opt for the one(s) from Sonax.

IMO:
It's best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

If you still have the wheels off the car with no tires on them, I would definitely coat them while they are clean and easy to handle. The two products recommended to you might be more applicable later in the life of the wheels as easy-to-apply after everything is mounted.

I have considered coating the wheels for sure but have no experience in using the coatings

I 100% agree. My fear with this is coating brand new flawless wheels and doing it wrong and make them look worse in some way.

Any of you fellas have experience with coating and would you recommend it to someone who hasn't done it before?

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the advice Bob! and when you say its best to follow the manufacturers recommendations you are referring to the sealant manufacturer correct?

Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating and DP Wheel Coating are some of the easiest coatings to use. Even if you have never used a coating before.

The DP line will be part of the new McKee 37 line so you may want to see how much it is as Pinnacle is on the high side if cost is an issue.

Until then you can use what you have or get some Sonax.

Awesome! Thank you for the information! I am assuming that Black Label wheel coating is a simple application but would have a longer and stronger protection than Sonax Polymer Net Shield?

You are correct.

It's been on backorder since it's getting absorbed into the new McKee 37 line.

Thanks for all the input guys! I might pull the trigger on the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Wheel Coating even though I just bought the carpro reload and Sonax Polymer net shield last night :awman:

But I feel like the coatings will help keep the wheels protected longer and maybe I can use the reload or net shields as maintenance after?

I use Pinnacle Black Label Wheel coating on my rims. It was my first experience with a coating and I had zero problems with it. The durability is great and the rims are easy to clean. Also, make sure you use the correct product for prep before using a coating.

I would definitely recommend a coating as others have stated since they are not mounted yet. As for the Reload and PNS, you can use either as a topper on the coating every 4 months or so. Both are also great for all other surfaces for protection.

Nice looking wheels. They're gonna' look sweet on the G37.

Thanks man that's what im thinking too! cant wait to get them on.

Thanks for the advice! once I lay a coating on the wheels can I immediately add reload or PNS? I am looking for as much protection as well as the most shine possible out of these wheels.

Also as a side note the wheels are clear coated aluminum with a chrome lip im assuming the product will work with each without an issue

G-techniq Wheel Armor .... man I was impressed. I have used in on painted wheels, uncoated wheels, and soon chrome wheels. Love it !

Thanks for all the help guys! The black label went on very easy! Today I got the wheels mounted and beside scratching my wheels ( in the rear barrel) they got the tire sealant all over which is like a slime. Would you guys recommend washing the wheels or wiping clean with a spray detailer?
