Seat Cleaning Attempt /w Some Questions & Pics

I bought some Folex and attempted to clean my cars passenger side seat. Before and Afters below. It seems like the dirt just spreads to the edge of where Folex was applied. This is about 10 minutes worth of work on these pics.

So my question is think I could do any better then this by hand?
Any tips?
Should I not even try?

A buddy wants me to shampoo his seats, but I have yet to acquire an extractor or shampooer. I told him I'd do it for 40-50 bucks since hes a friend and it will be my first shampoo attempt.

Spray, agitate, blot.

Works for me. Are you wiping or blotting?

I was doing a mixture of both. So don't let it soak in just agitate then immediately start dabbing it up?

Also I was using MFs would a regular terry rag be better for this?
Do you do small sections at a time or large?

I do small sections, as its a spot remover. For larger areas, I use an APC like Meguiars APC / APC +

If not, then listen to AeroCleanse, as he won't steer you wrong.

It is tough without any kind of mechanical action on seats that are quite dirty, but possible.
Just for the record, I have a LGM ProHeat and love it, but when you can take the stuff out (which is very possible on your own vehicle) a pressure washer is going to make it like new.

If you have a wet/dry vac, you can kind of do an extraction job on it, you just won't have forced water (which you don't have the the LGM anyhow). Just spray, agitate, spray with water, suction, then blot dry (just add a couple of steps to what has been said.

Nope no pressure washer yet. Only tool I have so far is an orbital buffer.

I just gave the drivers seat a shot and did a progressive pattern of small patches until the entire surface was done. Instead of just randomly doing spots here and there like in my last attempt.

I usually spray the whole seat, let it sit for a bit, then scrub, then hit with a wet terry towel and then the shop vac. Make sure you get the whole seat cushion or it'll usually leave spots.

Keep the seat as dry as possible and air out real well or you may have some mildew/mold problems.

Thanks for adding that Ron! I should have mentioned that (especially after suggesting the introduction of water to the seat). The thread I referenced covers that, but I failed to do so here, so I thank you.

Ended up being able to get the LGM before I did my buddies interior. I used Folex and the LGM with a Folex Solution.

So here are pictures of my first shampoo job.

The driver's side mat didn't get as clean as I would of liked. Did a lot of passes on it too.
