So, I got my second paying detail job last weekend. Used 3 inch Meguiar's MF pad with D300, then 105/205 with 5.5 LC CCS orange and white pad respectively. Then topped it off with Meguiar's GC wax. I'd like to take the credit but to be honest Meguiar's just makes some fantastic compounds and polishes!

I'm not so good with the before and after shots. I kinda get into detailing then afterward realize I should have planned my pictures better. Anyway the owner was happy! Here's a few pictures

After:

Wow that black on black Volvo looks beautiful, and the main goal here was that you made the customer happy and hopefully a returning one too as for the picture taking that will come naturally as time progress

Did you watermark them with the auto geek logo? or did that happen on upload? tag your name in there too!

Thanks guys! Yep he was happy. After the customer picked up his case his Dad called me later and asked if I would detail his 2013 G37.

cleanmycorolla, the autogeek watermark is automatic I guess. This is my first time uploading pictures. I'll have to figure out how to tag my name to the pictures.

Thanks again.

They started that on the upload recently. They have always been the property of Autogeek once you upload them, that's why you can't delete pictures from your album. It's in the rules somewhere but I can't find it right now.

Awesome work! Those kind of reflections just melts my heart every time!

Would you mind sharing your workflow? Also, how long did it take you to finish it?

Thanks again guys!

Daimler, of course I washed and clayed the night before. (I awarded the customer first prize for the most contaminants.). After trying a test area I went with 105 and the orange LC pad using extreme downward force for two passes then one to two moderate passes allowing the pad to rotate more quickly with each pass. I would repeat the step if needed. Then I used 205 with the LC white pad making two passes with moderate pressure followed by one to two passes using only the weight of the machine. By the way, I use a first generation PC so I tend to use more pressure than most folks would with more powerful DA machines. I would guess it took about 9 hours. I'm slow! Thanks again!

You're not alone... I have lots of learning to do too. It took me around 11 hours to finish my dad's beaten up Corolla. But that was my first. I hope to get faster as I do more cars. Knowing a lot more today, I believe I could've done it faster with a MF pad. But that's just me. :)

Thanks, I was familiar with all that and realize it's their property once we upload here, was more just curious because I liked the watermark and was curious where/how he got it. :xyxthumbs:
