Sema 2025

Nice little machine. I really like my nano, but will stay with it, it cost enough.

Gtechniq GT-ONE - seems like a CanCoat type of product

Optimum / Opti-Coat - cinnamon scented RW and Opti-Shield, which they pitched as like a liquid PPF which needs to be professionally installed.

Ah, yes, I remember the days when Dr. G eschewed things like that, where he didn't want to add anything to the product (even a scent) that wasn't relative to the performance of the product.

PS Where did you hear about this? They haven't posted anything on the OPT forum, and although their Facebook page has the same picture, there seems to be no caption.

TRC's livestream:

I stole the picture from their facebook.

😄 maybe I've become jadded a bit, but brands are at the point with a new product being adding a scent, or color or adding a different colored mitt or sponge. Everyone wants to refresh to stay at the top of the page, but it's getting harder to come up with new products.

Griot's is doing a livestream at 7pm ET.

So far it looks like they have some pressure washer wands.

Thanks for sharing
Rupes Bigfoot Nano iBrid Long Neck Mark II Polisher is now even more powerful, versatile and innovative. Featuring the exclusive SmartFix quick-release system. It allows easy, fast connection and disconnection of the functional units.

Thanks to the new gear reduction system, the Nano II can operate in rotary mode up to 2000 RPM even with 50mm backing plates, ensuring consistent torque and superior control. Ideal for precision work in tight spaces and defect removal, it is the perfect tool for polishing professionals who demand flexibility, reliability and uncompromised performance in every situation.

I see pre-order prices of 418 for just the bare tool and 490 with 2 batteries. Ships next week.

I have been thinking about buying a micro polisher and was waiting to see what comes out. I'm not sure how much I care about the rotary change or the quick-change attachments, but it looks like the removed some bulk from near the pad, which I like. Perhaps the dual action modes are improved as well?

I also see edgeless 16x16" PFM towels on the website. 1500 gsm, $25

and an Air Gun
1500 GSM... So if that makes it super absorbent for drying... why would 2 towels be needed to dry a car?
  • Not that I mind 2 towels... perhaps use one in dirtier spots or something, but then I would appreciate the set of 2 having 2 different colored towels.

Just watched the videos for those products:
  • In the towel video they mention the towel is super agile, but when wiping the side of the car I think the towel touched the tire. I get that the tires clean, but I don't like when that happens, gives me a scare 😱 (also, think they say the towel can hold 3 lbs of water so I think 1/3 a gallon roughly)
  • There are non-detailing offerings out there, but I don't know if any detailing companies offer a cordless compressed air blower? (as in, something that blows compressed air without needing to connect it to an air compressor which is connected to... power)

for their PFM terry towels, which are a lower GSM, 1 is enough to dry my car from a RW but I usually use a second if doing a bucket wash.

I don't know how many PFM terry towels I use to dry my car, because I have plenty so I always use more than I need  (I like their PFM terry towels)

I really like the presentation of the new Carpro lineup. They were one of the first to prioritize product presentation in the modern era, it's one of the factors that drew me to the brand in the first place.

The second generation iBrid Nano was well overdue. The original was a pioneer in this sector, but had fallen behind as new interpretations have come along. I think the original was perfectly proportioned, especially the long neck type. The new Nano sees a significant improvement in a few key areas -

- Increased power and torque, to the point where it can handle significant downward pressure, which was a drawback of the original.

- The ability to fit the larger backing plate in rotary mode, the previous one was restricted to the small backing plate. There will also be a 3-inch adaptor in the future.

- Increased battery capacity. You can also use the previous generation batteries, just at reduced machine output. The original a/c power cord will work too.

- The quick-change head system is seriously impressive. The original was a pain to change the movement adaptors, a fiddly process that required using a special tool and a lock button on the head. These ones lock in place with a magnet.

They have also deleted the short neck version.

I always loved the iBrid Nano for its slender form factor, something that wasn't achieved with the Flex PXE-80 and ShineMate EB210. The drawbacks were many, but overall it was the best of its type. But in 2025, the original Nano was well overdue for improvement.

I'm now taking bets as to how much the greedy Australian distributor will charge for the new Nano. The old one was only available in kit form in Australia, retailing at a ridicules $1100 for the short neck and $1150 for the long neck. My prediction, $1300.

The Rag Company and The Detail Factory also announced a partnership. Not a buyout as such, but the two companies will merge, allowing both sides to leverage their strengths.

I did watch a little of DIY Details live stream and then watched a little of Pan's. Pan updated most of his entire product line (V2 versions). During his live stream when he noted the new product surpassed the prior version, he said more than once "if that is even possible!" He did increase concentration of his car wash from 1:256 to 1:512. It was an expensive soap at prior dilution, He also bragged that CLEAN was the top selling brand at THOR. The new versions may be available by first of 2026.

If Eddie wants Detail Co to succeed he needs to get someone will spend more time marketing it.
