So I've got this massive 4" tailpipe on my truck and even though I just wash it wish a sponge whenever I wash my truck, it looks pretty dirty.

I was thinking about giving it a bit of shine. What king of sandpaper can I use to make it look good?

I'm gonna try some MAAS polish on my tailpipe. MS3s run PIG SNORTIN RICH in stock trim. One week of driving has the tip, and then some, covered in exhaust s00t.

Are you serious about the sandpaper? Gosh, I hope not. Unless, of course, you don't have a tailpipe with a polished tip. I'd go with some 0000 steel wool.

If it's not stainless steel I don't think if would spent time doing it. I would have to agree with Truls on the P21s Polishing Soap. I have not tried it on tailpipes but I have tried it on some other things and it worked very well.

if its the stock pipe, i have yet to see anyone who can really polish up the stock piping on thier CTD. You could always upgrade

Wow, that is REALLY impressive. :applause:I am sold and will add that to my next order.... I just wont tell the wife about this one.... lol:o

It's just the regular stainless steel exhaust! Truls, that is quite impressive work with the P21S!

Looks like #0000 it will be... Thanks!

Have you ever used the Chrome Polish or All Purpose Polish? I just ordered some because of your reviews and many many others. I'm very excited to try these.

Chrome polish is great on chrome specifically ...the hidden gem is the Showmans version for use on uncoated wheels and high polish stainless steel.

I used #0000 steel wool on my chrome tips for my dual exhaust and they swirled like crazy now, use to just use a sponge and soap and was fine.

Sparkie, what did you use on that exhaust?

Good lord, I'd NEVER use steel wool on a chrome tip. I totally scratched up one of my Borla exhaust tips using what I thought was a non-scratching substitute.

From now on it's Simple Green, a soft brush & MF.

This is a good topic, I purchased the Mothers one...can't remember the name. This P21S sounds like a good product but sparkie what was it that you used again?

Yeh I don't know how you guys are using Steel Wool. I kept seeing people say that so what do I do, go and use #0000 steel wool (which is lightly abrassive) and swirl the heck out of my chrome tips on my dual exhaust:(

Flat Black

I painted the tip of my Blazer tail pipe with flat black spray paint. Looks good to me, a matter of preference.

Remember though, I don't have a chrome tip. It's just the regular stainless steel exhaust pipe...
