Mike,
I have a good friend and now a customer that really wants shiny wheels and TIRES. I have the wheels looking their best after using the DP-Wheel Coating and started him with the Pinnacle Black Label Tire Coating.

I have now applied 3-4 coats and thought that would be enough shine but no, he wants more shine. I dropped by and added 2-more coats yesterday and still not as glossy as he expected.

My question is how many coats can be applied to give intense gloss on tires?

I looked and explained that some of the problem is going to be the tire design, so many of the sidewall ribs. I thought about using the DP Lightning Tire Shine but doubted it would bond over that coated tire.

FYI: He has used another mobile detailer that uses the tire foam to give that shiny look. Problem is that the product slings and leaves a spotting on the paint, for which he now sees but likes shiny.

It all depends on the product, many tire dressings are a matte finish, some get glossier with several coats, and some are glossy as soon as you put it on the first coat. I believe you can find what you want in the Meguires line, they have a few that are really glossy.

My friend uses a meguiars foam that is shiny as hell. Literally has glitter in it. Can’t tell unless you take a pick though

Meguiar?s Hot Shine REFLECT Tire Shine

He applies and lets sit overnight.... no issues with sling.

I’d personally use Griots black shine tire gel.
