A little background:
My baby has been neglected severely the last year and a half. My wife was pregnant Fall 2012 till July 2013. So during this time, the Passat was put last. I really didnt get to enjoy it last summer and only washed a few times, waxed only twice. Sat all winter with car cover on it. So this year, she is getting the royal treatment she deserves. Along with this full prep, I will be using many new to me products and giving my opinion.

Starting off.....
Wanted to remove black Plasti Dip from my window trim as my new wheels color would go better with the polished trim. It has been on there for 2 years. I had to order Dissolver to remove. The process left paint smears all over, which meant a lot of clay barring time...or did it?

After the PlastiDip was stripped, I wanted to use a strong wash to help remove some of the smearing. I used Chemical Guys Citrus Wash along with an ounce of CG All Clean +. I then Iron X`d and readied to clay bar.

Review #1 - Nanoskin Mild Autoscrub Pad & Sponge
Ok, this actually scared me. I am so used to seeing the contaminants as I clay. You really don`t see anything as you're claying because the rubber surface is dark grey. I broke it in on glass and moved to paint, speed 2.5 on my GG 6" DA using CG Luber. I used a bit more Luber than normal since it was my first time. I used the sponge for A Pillar`s and other tight areas. I also rinsed the pad/sponge after each panel as a precaution since I couldn`t see anything on the surface.

Conclusion: A HUGE time saver. Did it marr the paint? Unsure as I didnt inspect before claying. Very impressed however. An amazing and cutting edge product.

Note: Starter kit came with bottle of NanoShock and says its a sealant. Anyone use?

I did a final wash after to ensure the paint was squeaky clean...

Review #2 - A few AutoGeek acquired wheel cleaning tools that are definitely worth the $$......

Review #5 - Tractor Supply sprayer
Went looking to see if local equine store had the Kwazar product marketed to the equine crowd. Found these for $1.69 ea. great capacity, measurement marking on side, awesome sprayer. Well worth it. Great for APC`s, ONR, wheel cleaner; anything you normally use in large amounts.

Side note (tip)....
For the big handed guys like me...these are available at gas stations here and there. I pick up a few here and there. Great for the sandwich bag test and when you need quick protection.

Now what to use...
I have:
Wolfgang Trio
HD Adapt & Cut
Americana Amerirocks
C.A.R Finishing Polish

Will be performing a multi step correction. Obviously, the Wolfgang is well received and reviewed here. I would like to provide some insight on the others.

Wheels are getting the Hydr02 treatment. I spent hours applying multiple coats of Jet Seal 109 before, not again.

As for LSP, I will use Jet Seal 109 and then top with Son1c Proto Wax 93 instead of my go to, CG Lava.I want to see how it will perform on this red.

Now she sleeps until tomorrow...

To be continued tomorrow........

Well sounds like you have a all around covered selection. I like having mixed products in the works. It gives a little variety and some work better than others in combination. Keep up the good work and keep us updated! Check out my progress bulletin on my Blue Mustang Coupe. haha It has come a serious long way since I bought her.
