I just finished this de-badged 745 that was pretty swirled. For this finish, I used 3M Extra Cut compound (very aggressive stuff!) and decided to mix some Meguiar's #83 on the same pad. Not only did it reduce the dusting from the 3M, it worked longer and produced a nicer finish.

Final product used was Meguiar's #26

For some reason, my outdoor shot came out fuzzy....might have been moisture because the shop is air conditioned and I walked out to a lot of humidity.

Nice turn out Toto...looks very nice.....pics showed great results...

I myself found that mixing a oil based product with a water based product does help a lot...

I mix Opt polish with menz and it works wonders....I also mix it with 3M and works good...I have some #80 and #83..I may try them and see how they work compared to Opt polish....

Nice results with the 3m mix. I have also mixed 3M Extra Cut with optimum polish and did great.

Very nice there Toto, kinda odd to see the pictures turn out a little fuzzy but no worries your hard work keeps in shining :righton:

Silver is a tough color to detail if you ask me, just like white...I don't know which is worse white or black. White is forgiving wile black is not but white is a pain to find the swirls and when you think you got it right there might be some swirls/scratches left.

I like silver, I never did like it because I always saw it as a comon color but now that I own a silver color vehicle I love it.

Thanks for sharing Toto, she looks great and the experiment sounds like a good one to try out. Oh, I picked up a few 3M products and they are quite good. It's good to have a variety of products :D

Cool fog effect! You did a good number on those swirls. The silver is looking bomb. The 2nd picture has a nice effect, it looks really cool, sorta like a brochure picture or something. That's really nice the shop is air conditioned :D I'd suffocate if it wasn't.
