Hello,

I have a single car garage and its been difficult to find space in the garage to do paint polishing. There is just enough space for the car to go in and for the driver door to open for me to get out.

Now that is summer here it's really hot during the middle of the day and I find myself a lot of limitation for time on the weekend.

I have two potential cars being dropped off over two different weekends for paint work but I feel I can't do much of the work until I get some shade which is a big time challenge.

What I thought of:
1. Move car into the garage partly to correct front bumper/hood/back bumper/trunk
2. Wait for shade to work side panels and including roof. But proper lighting to inspect the roof is limited
3. Do paint correction when the sun is down (look even more crazy to my neighbours)
4. Possibly purchase a canopy but expensive option

So, how do some of you manage to do paint correction for weekend jobs when you own a single car garage?

I've got a fairly large pop-up Gazebo that i use if I'm out on site. not ideal, but better than nothing. one option might be to find a business locally that has a decent size garage/barn/warehouse and see if the owner would like their car detailed in exchange for using it on weekends when the business is closed.

If you don't have enough room park the car close as you can to wall and then do the other side, you may not be able to get out through the drivers side , so as I do, climb over to the other seat, LOL, then change sides, this should help you, I have to do this when working on large trucks and SUV's.

LOL I have actually done this before. On smaller cars such as coupes it was a challenge

(I know they have them for shoes...)

Are you like me and wish that someone would
hurry up and invent a "Garage Stretcher"!!

I wish I had a garage! I'm polishing my sister's car under the tree in front of our two townhouses.

I'm very lucky my single car garage is 16 feet wide and 30 feet long. I could still use another 2 feet in width would make it perfect.

I'd used a pop up tent right out the garage.

Only put the head in. NO pun intended. Lmao

You gotta be crafty to work in a single car garage - ask me how I know. Basically, you're pulling the car like a centimeter from the wall and getting out the other side. I've actually become quite skilled at this, even though I hate it.

The car will likely have to be in a total of 4 total positions: middle (polish hood), far right (polish left side), far left (polish right side ), and backed in (polish rear).
