Five weeks ago, I had my used 2006 Toyota Corolla; painted at body shop and a "single stage enamel" (gloss black) paint was applied. I realize it still needs more time to cure; however, I've read that it's not as durable (to UV light) as Base Coat Clear Coat. Question: "Is there anything I can do (after it cures), other than having the body shop add a clear coat; to increase its durability?" My plan was to give it another 6 weeks to cure and then wax it. I just wondered if there was anymore I could do. Also, when they say less durable, do they mean that in a year or so the paint luster will begin to fade?

Thanks,

I would go with a sealant like Meguiar's NXT 2.0 or Ultimate Wax then top it with Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Paste Wax.

2 coats of the sealant waiting 12 to 24 hours between coats and 2 coats of the Gold Class with the same wait time between coats.

Then Wax it ever 3 to 4 months depending.

Also get Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer and Ultimate Quick wax for maintenance between waxing.
