May I suggest that when there is a sale or special announcement that Admin installs a scrolling streamer on top of forum posts. It is a simple procedure and I think it would be eye catching. Just my 2 cents.Thank You button would also be nice.

I would love a like button, or a "rep" button.
 
An updated smiley list would be nice too

and if you get 1000 reps/thumbs up (ie helping the AG community/(CeeDog)

you get to BOGO any item of your choice, but following the regular restrictions

and if you don't use them, they roll over! or you can pass it to your AG friends as a way to say Thank you :)
 
Only problem with the Rep system is the idiots who self rep. Then as the forum moderators, you are going to have to deal with all that crap. Ive never been on a forum where Rep worked. But maybe I just haven't been a part of the right forum.

There would have to be a limit of how many times one person could give the same person rep. Otherwise you would have people trading rep for no reason. i was on a forum where it worked, but i don't think prizes shouldbe involved, it's just suppose to be in fun.
 
The scrolling banner is a fantastic idea. I messaged Meghean a while back suggesting a point system much like Reddit.com, Facebook, or StackOverflow.com. Those systems let you know right away when a suggestion is good ;)

While we're all going about "improving" the Forum, most vBulletin forums I'm on have a thread's original post's date/time next to the OP's username in the Subject list. Kinda handy sniffing out old threads you may not recall reading in event you care to revisit them or avoid them. Or not.

My thought would be to have a ending date on the BOGO screen. You would know when it was posted and will end, etc. !!!
