Kind of sucks that the shipping is so slow to the west coast.
It took 9 days for my last order, but the day it was supposed to have arrived, I checked the tracking # and said shipment was returned to sender because the package was damaged.
Now I have to wait until next week again. Also I have this shipped across the boarder to place that accepts packages for Canadians so I don't have to wait 4-6 weeks for it so I have to pay for another package. :(
I also sold some auto parts to someone in flordia and it only took 2 business days to get there. Not sure why it has to be so slow the other way.
They did how ever ship out everything again the same day but I would have liked to add a couple things or at least be contacted about the problem.

It's never fun when you have a order running around late on you. AG seems pretty good overall but there is always some little thing wrong with my order that requires a phone call or an email. They fix it but its a bit of a hassle. I would not rely on them for a time sensitive shipment for something I had to have for a client detail. I go out of my way to keep inventory current but sometimes something comes up that I need in a day or a couple of days. I would always go to a competitor that has never let me down before.

shipping times, it is what it is . I always get free shipping . that saves me money . I know for myself it usually 5 days . keep in mind if u enter any comments in the "box" with your order it can delay it some also, any items that are backorder ... , u should get an email and if u want , reply or call and they will ship out separately , which prob delays another day . I got no prob with order fulfillment . usually picked packed and shipped same or next day . once it gets into ups , it's all them . I've had my share of damaged items , never a returned packaged though . ag always took care . I mainly order from ag, the little I order from autopia though , my packages were fed ex , and 1 day faster . if u need items faster I would say call in to place your order and maybe u have to upgrade to faster shipping , next day - 2nd day ....

Do you mean slow shipping from UPS? Once it leaves there shop, which Ive found is same day, its the responsibility of UPS. If you want it quicker, I belieive you have the option of accessing UPS's quicker shipment options through the Autogeek checkout, 2nd day, etc.If you have a problem, call, they seem to be quite friendly and helpful.

I guess you can say it's UPS but I just shipped something off to Flordia. USPS cheapest option they had. It took 2 business days.

Package size, weight, carriers, delivery paths and more can all effect shipping time. I might suggest calling in and seeing if a faster option is available at a cost that is reasonable. Most packages at AG are shipped the same or next morning unless out of stock or error on order and needs to resolve with purchaser.

^This. Take this for what you will, but I have heard this "from the horse's mouth", so to speak (NOT myself, rest assured)- UPS will sit on packages that are shipped "standard" for a day or two so that it purposely takes longer for them to reach the destination. They do this in the hopes that the customer will, next time, spend the extra money to upgrade the shipping to two-day or next-day (Red). Believe me, UPS could (if they wanted to) get packages pretty much anywhere they need to go within 1-2 days for no extra cost, no problem. However, business is business, and they are out to make money just like everyone else, so when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for. Like I said before though, take it for what you will. I am in no way, shape, or form saying anything negative about UPS, as they are a great company, but business is business, and time costs money. As stated above, once AG has shipped the package, they have no control over how/when it arrives, although I'm sure if they did the service would be nothing short of stellar, just like everything else these fine folks do for us!

Cheers! :xyxthumbs::buffing:

Man... if I had to wait that long I'd likely never order anything. Called in today, well into the afternoon, and the order went out B4 closing. Of course with it being Friday I'll not get it till Tuesday. But... if it'd been on Monday I'd gotten it Wednesday. BOY am I glad I live in Georgia! (Except for the heat and humidity!)

I rather wait my usual 10 days then having to sit through heat and humidity. That's why California is better lol :p

Damn UPS!
Always hated them especially when I used to ship things directly to canada.
The faster shippinh is the same in canada. They always try to upsell me to the 2 day instead of 4 days. I just take standard and package gets there in 2 days anyways.
It sucks that ups will actually delay a package on purpose just because you paid for regular shipping.

I've never waited more than 2 or 3 business days in VA. Myself and everyone around me is super impressed with AG shipping and support.

I have also noticed that my packages take just a couple more days than usual from AG, I really don't care at all and doesn't bother me, But much heavier packages for my car with basic ground arrive in 4-5 days.... Could be the shipping carrier though...

We've all gotten spoiled by the tricks that companies like Amazon, Newegg, etc. have used to speed up the shipping times.

UPS Ground Shipping has a delivery chart based on zones (distance from origin shipping point), and that chart hasn't really changed in decades.

Newegg (mostly computer stuff) has warehouses on both coasts.

Amazon has set up warehouses in several places, including Phoenix. I've been amazed when, on many occasions, I order computer stuff in the morning, and it's delivered on the same afternoon. Standard ground shipping, not even Amazon Prime. It just has to be stocked in the Arizona facility.

Florida has the same problem we always had in Arizona. Lots of packages coming in from elsewhere, not so many going out. The trucks only roll when they've been filled. The zone delivery times they post reflect that fact.

Not sure how much volume AGO actually does, but I beat the AZ problem by getting UPS to give me return addresses in Chicago, Cleveland and Atlanta. We arranged shipping "dead head" at a bargain price, as the trucks needed to be returned east, and they gave me great rates to not have empty trucks traveling the highways. We'd fill a truck with packages, have the entire truck driven to one of those locations and hand it to UPS there. Sped up shipping time by quite a bit. But, we were shipping 10 million packages per year. As a result, I had at least one truck leaving for each of the alternate locations on a daily basis. In the slower seasons for our business, we'd shut down at least one of the alternate locations just to ensure that trucks left our dock on a daily basis.

Perhaps we can convince someone at AGO to look at the situation, and get the various shippers to help them come up with solutions that get the packages to places in the higher zones delivered more quickly. It won't happen unless the management decides that the issue is important. Even then, it really depends on how much annual volume they are doing.

This sums it up nicely. If AG had the volume of Newegg or Amazon they could leverage the same "tricks" to get things to people faster at the same or lower prices. Newegg in particular does a great job with cheap or free 3 day UPS.

I'll admit I've never had a problem with an order from AG but the speed has always irked me some. For whatever reason their location in Florida to Seattle always sits around 8 to 9 business days. But I can get ground UPS from Miami consistently in 5 days and from elsewhere on the East Coast like NYC in an average of 4 days. It's like the perfect storm for long shipping times. But I also know there isn't much they can do about it so I wait as patiently as possible. But if they ever had the sales volume to justify a west coast warehouse they'd do everyone in this half the country a huge favor!

I think many of the complaints would be solved if AG offered USPS as a shipping option.

I live in Nebraska and placed four orders with four different companies on Thursday of last week. One was in PA (FedEx ground), another was in CA (USPS), and the third was in FL (USPS). The fourth was a 4.4 lb. order from AutoGeek (UPS).

All of the packages except for AG were delivered in two days (Saturday). My AG order won't be here until Wednesday (5 days).

If it hadn't been for the 90 minute promotion they were running at the time (already had a 20% off coupon in the cart), I would have been charged $20 for shipping a 4.4 lb. package, and it still would have taken five days. My FedEx order from PA? It weighed 32 lbs. and cost me less than $20.

If AG were to offer USPS as a shipping option for lighter packages, such as mine, it would have been here on Saturday as well...

I witnessed that with my recent purchase from here. UPS tracking had it in the local area early on the morning of the third buisness day. In stead of delivering it, they held it for a day which took them into the weekend, and then finally delivered it on the fourth day...yesterday.

I've witnessed this from FEDEX too on Amazon purchases to many times to count. I've seen several purchases move WAY faster than the Amazon shipping estimate, only to have the item sit in a local distribution center for 3~4 days before arriving on the very last day of the shipping estimate provided by Amazon. It was almost as if they knew what Amazon had promised and then sat on it just long enough so it wasn't late.

I would think that UPS, FEDEX, etc would want to move stuff as rapidly as possible to save warehouse space and provide them with maximum capacity at all times rather than putting packages in a holding pattern. I'd also think that exceeding their shipping estimates would make a person use them again in the future. I guess not.

As for NewEgg, they are like 2 miles away. So I just place my order on will call and a few hours later my package is there. Lol

I sent a package 2.5 weeks ago to another country USPS, the package isn't there yet, they claimed they wouldn't be able to track it. That and insurance would have been $50. My Dad was telling me "How come you didn't send it UPS? Lol (go figure)

I'm wondering if part of the problem could be a lag in time from "when the label is created" to when the actual package leaves the building. Who know if you package has actually left the building when its in the "shipped" status.

It seems like a lot of other places use Fed-Ex and USPS, both of which seem faster. I have to admit, out of every place I order stuff from, It always takes the longest to get here (PA) from AG.

I'll order from CarPro USA on a Monday and have it on Wed. If I order from DD or DI it ussly takes 3 to 4 days. If its AG I'm looking at 5 BUISNESS days usually, which if fall over a weekend turns into a week. I've even ordered stuff from the Ultimate Finish (its in Europe) and it arrives in 3 days (they use DHL) - and their in another country !

I think it's a very arbitrary system.

When I lived in the UK, I could get a USPS first class/priority 3-day package from New York in under five days. An Amazon package via FEDEX takes 5~7 days to go from Memphis, TN to my home...it's a four hour drive. Tire Rack can ship me 4 tires the same distance and get them to my front door in 2~3 days. Makes no sense really.

Once I have ordered anything, from anybody, from anywhere:
I never resort to habitually querulous behavior regarding shipping.

Instead...I just peruse the threads where others have taken the opportunity to do so.
Next thing I know...Voilà!!...The package(s) has/have arrived.
