Does it matter what kind of snow brush i use for removing snow from my vehicle? I would hate to use the wrong brush and damage the finish, thanks!

I use the snow brum . I live in the snowiest city in the U.S. and it works really well. I allso keep a combo snow brush ice scraper in the truck. I used to work at a Lincoln Mercury dealership and we would use them to clean off the vehicles before we pulled them in for service. Saves a lot of time and they hold up really well but youll still need a scraper for ice on the windshield.

I use the snow brum very carelessly. It gives me a chance to hone my paint correction skills come spring:dblthumb2:Im the MAN:buffing:

:iagree: use what will make your life easier. When I lived in ny ,before a storm was gonna hit I sprayed tire dressing all over the car and to this day my neighbors are still wondering what the secret was.

I use olive oil.

I used a Snow joe last winter to clear the snow from my Honda's soft black paint w/o causing any significant issues. The trick is to make sure 1) you've got a good strong LSP down before winter sets in and 2) make sure your pushing the snow and not touching the paint with the foam edge:

Easy pezy.

I was able to find a tool at a local store that has the brush on one side of a rotating head and a snow brum-like foam blade on the other. I find it does far less damage to the paint. I'm sure the brum is the way to go.

I've accepted the fact that snow removal will mar the paint, no matter what I try. I make Spring my paint correction season and just accept the fact I'll be doing it every year to all my vehicles.

Tire dressing? You folks are hardcore...lol...thanks for all your replies. I used a regular snow brush lightly last night for the first snow removal on my car, looks like it will be the snowbrum for me going to order one now, thanks again!

Looks like you are good to go.... I was gonna add antihero vote for the Snowbrum in there :dblthumb2:

I got the the snowbrum on my last order and got to use this past weekend and can't believe I've ever used anything else. It's so much safer and SOOOO much easier! Highly recommend.

If you use a brush, you'll want to use one where the bristles have flagged ends. They don't sell the Oxo brush here anymore, I can't vouch for the brushes they currently sell in the store,

Bed, Bath and Beyond carries the OXO snow brush with the feathered bristle ends. I've been using it for 6 years with great results. Just do a search on their website. I find it more useful than the snow broom since you can safely get into small areas where the snow may collect.

  • The OXO Good Grips Extendable Snow Brush is a very useful tool for clearing away snow off of your car
  • Feathered bristle tips help keep your car safe from scratches
  • Scraper breaks up ice with ease
  • Brush head twists 90 degrees
  • Black color
  • Measures 23-1/2" L x 5-1/2" W
  • Extends to 34-1/2" L
