I'm sure there's AG members out there watching the news about the fire and reside in So Cal. Just hoping everyone's ok. I'm not sure if we're gonna have to evacuate, but might have to later. Everyone out there please be safe!

Yeah, one of those San Diego fires was down by you, huh, Klumzy? Another in Northern San Diego, one in Malibu (almost every year with mudslides to follow the first rain), one in Santa Clarita.

Yeah lots of stuff going on, I'm just waiting for the news to give updates of my area (Chula Vista). Right now we're just in voluntary evacuation.

well sucks for

i thought the malibu fires were the only ones (which is about a lil over an hour from me) but apparently theres new fires today out by foothill ranch which actaully is 10 - 15 mins or so from me..so im trapped inbetween both

not only that..the reason for the hot temperature is due to the santa ana winds (which is like 5 minutes from my house) so everything put together puts us in a pretty big sh!t hole.

I went to the gym today and i had to cover my face just to walk from my car to the doors so i couldtn inhale any embers or smoke. The gym obviously had its doors open every 5 seconds so even the gym had smoke flying through the area..it was like a night club haha

a few of my freinds had to evacuate their houses and besides all the bad stuff...its got anice glow in the sky for some cool picture taking

careful for anyone in my area...those embers and ashes get on your car ud better hope that it doesnt get ur clear coat...i had it happen to me a few years back when we had those pomona fires

anyways...hope everyones safe

Be safe everbody! Get your PC/UDM/Rotary and run, don`t forget all the products :p Oh, and the car!!

I hope all you southern California people say safe. From listening to the news it seems like the fires are really out of control and the high winds are very bad.

This time of year when the "Sana Anna" winds (winds out of the east that get warmer and dryer as they blow down the mountains to the east) blow it seems that fires spring up in a lot of different locations. Seems fishy to me. It has to be arson. I'll be darn as I was typing this the news reporter just said one is for sure arson but I didn't hear which. Probably all they just can't prove it yet.
You take care Klumzy. If you still have water pressure and have to evacuate think about putting a sprinkler on your roof. That saved a house that I had in Santa Clarita years ago.

Thanks for the tip Jimmie! Well so far we don't have to leave, there's just clear coat eating ashes around the place :p
It could be arson, it could be not. This happened in 2003, I forgot what the cause was though, but in 2003 the fire was pretty damn close to my house.

On my broker forum, a couple people so far have have lost their homes, nothing but ashes :( . I also saw video of homes on the beach/coast up in flames, and your talking multi-million $ homes and valuables just gone. I'll take living with Hurricanes any time, wild fires are just to scary and with Santa Ana winds, almost unstoppable untill the winds die. They just said on the news it was like 3% or less contained.

It is a horrible mess. half of my co-workers can't even get home. Our cars, even in the garage, are covered in ash. My pool is going to have to be drained. We are just praying we don't have to evacuate here next. they are everywhere; just overnight. The wind is horrendous at best! Nightmare city.....

The winds have been up to 90 moh in places! Around 45 here now, maybe more.
No way it is goiing to be contained soon, sorry.
100 houses lost in Rancho Bernardo...........

A lot of houses are gone....I hope you are safe Lauren as well as everyone else! I just saw on TV someone tried to save their antique car, got damaged a bit...and a Porsche devastated earlier in the afternoon.

This will be worse then 2003 fires. Did you also hear it was arson, they nailed it down and are searching for the suspects.....personally I say death by torture, little gasoline and a match all thats needed, see how they like being "lit" up.

It's sad what people do...Some say it was kids who lit a fire at San Ysidro...

ya one of the fires is arson...i forgot which one
they caught one guy
killed 5 firefighters..

Little old Biblical justce, eh Surfer? An eye for an eye?

Wouldn't want you on my bad side!! Hee hee

Klumzypinoy - Yes, thanks, so far - keep your fingers crossed - all is well with me.
How about you?
I think some co-workers lost houses; 100 just burnt up in Fallbrook. We have a lot of people up there. :-( Sad, sad......

From what I heard on the news they were arson and another that the Santa Ana winds knocked down a line with a transformer that set a blaze. The arson ones, their ambers started other fires, they said in total there are a couple hundred hot spots, thats a lot:eek: , b/c even hot spots that are smoldering and not up in flames can start a blaze again from one amber hitting the dry bush.

Watching CNN, wow, just wow. The other problem is the wind would start changing direction so areas that didn't have evacuations but were close, were now right in the line of fire. The radar for weather, is making it look like there are storms, the smoke is so large and thick its confusing the radar into thinking its storm clouds.
