As I was cleaning the Daughters car and washing the rims and tires I noticed a lot of stains on the front rims that washing did not remove. I had an unopened bottle of 101 that had not been used to date. Today looked like the perfect opportunity.

101 can definately give 501 a cleaning contest. I originally bought this as DG recommended it for non porous plastic which I have not tried it on yet. As for durability I do not have a clue.

Thanks for the #101 review.
Really good "cleaner sealant"!!

I've used it before with #601...Had to mix it at the same ratio as the 4-parts of either #'s: 105, 111, or 501...to one part #601.

Otherwise:
I found I could hardly control the application of #101 directly atop #601:
It was slicker than trying to stack boiled onions!

Did you go over it with 501 after 101? To see if it would remove any remaining dirt.

No I did not. Those are the original 02 rims and being 12 years old and original paint I worked them until I was satisfied. Bob, do you know any durability facts on 101 ?. I did use the 101 on the Wife's Sienna plastic mirrors and window trim and I honestly think it came out better than 501 or 601/501 (Gasp). Bob is right about the slickness of 101, shame it is only 8oz. bottle but I am sure they can make more. Guess I may try the 601/101 on something (there's still the rear rims)

Dave looks like 101 did the job.

Durability I'm going to say sowhere around the 501 mark(as a stand alone) just my .02

Haven't used 101 in a long time.....looks like I need to pick it up again and experiment.

Thanks Tim, 501 mark is ok, mixing 601 is probably better although not sure. I was impressed how the 101 worked and very slick after the wipe off.

To answer my own question DG's site does recommend 601/101 blend
