i'm going to be detailing a vehicle with the new "soft paint" any do's and don't that i should know about? what polish/pad to use, can (or should) this be clay bared, any special instructions will help. thanks

You can clay it. Start with your least aggressive product combo first and see where that gets you. DA or rotary? I would start off with a light cutting polish with a white or maybe even a green pad pad. What products do you have? It also depends on the condition of the paint.

it's a new honda. has been on the lot for nearly a year and a half. loads of swirls. i'll be using a PC on it unless i shouldn't (its red). told the owner i'd do some checking before i'd touch it. has anyone worked on this new type of paint yet???

i have pennicle, xmt 1-4, menzema, meguiers, optimum ,poorboys etc... and a full range of pads if anyone has worked with this type of paint please advise

There is no problem claying the paint. You might need the orange pad to take the swirls out but will have to work a white pad for a little while to get them out and then move on to the blue finish pad with your finishing pad for a couple times also to get rid of any marring or what little swirls you have left over.

What Menzerna polishes do you have? PC is ok to use. You don't have to be scared just because the paint is soft, be happy you're not dealing with an Audi or Vette clear coat.

Actually softer paints are more of a pain to deal with than ones with harder paint.

final & intensive. guess i'll start with pinnacle advanced finishing polish & a white pad

Looks like you have the Menzerna so go with the white and sip and then move from there.

ok i'll give that a try. i'll do a small spot on the bottom side of the hood first to see how it looks
